Mishipeshu

The mishipeshu has the head and paws of a giant

cat but is covered in scales, its paws are webbed
and it has dagger-like spikes running along its
back and tail. The mishipeshu's whiskers, facial
fur and horns are said to be copper.
Masters of Water. The mishipeshu are
sometimes referred to as 'the Great Lynx' or
'Underwater Panthers'. Mishipeshu are said to be
sacred to water itself and are masters of all water
creatures, including snakes. A mishipeshu's roar
or hiss sound like rolling thunder, cracks of
lightning or rushing rapids.
Mishipeshu live in the deepest parts of lakes
and rivers, where they can cause storms. If you
respect the water then underwater panthers are
helpful, protective creatures, but if they feel
offended or disrespected they can become
malevolent beasts that bring death and
misfortune. They often need to be placated for
safe passage across a lake.
Thunderhawk Hunter. Mishipeshu hunt all
manner of creatures, but they have a special
deep-seated hatred for the elemental hawks, especially
the Thunderhawk. The mishipeshu pride themselves
on the number of Thunderhawks they have defeated,
seeking to outdo eachother.
