1 This TT5119 Requirements Traceability Matrix Template is used in conjunction with the
Requirements Management Activity
2 All of the projects requirements (business, product, and product component) should be
documented in this matrix.
3 The requirements identification schema should allow traceability between source
requirements and derived requirements.
4 If the System Test Plan references the requirements, the System Test Case ID column
can be eliminated.

ID Unique identifier for a requirement
Description Brief description of the requirement
Strategic Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section that a strategic requirement is
documented.
Business Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section that a business process
requirement is documented.
Software Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section that a implementation requirement
is documented.
Systems Integration Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section that a systems integration
requirement is documented.
Infrastructure Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section that an infrastructure requirement
is documented.
Operational Requirements Unique identifier for the document, page, and section for an operational requirement.
Detailed Design Documentation Unique identifier for the document, page, and section for the detailed-level design of the
requirement, including diagrams, schema.
Subsystem Unique identifier for the subsystem that will implement the requirement
Module Unique identifier for the module that will implement the requirement
Program Unique identifier for the program that will implement the requirement
System Test Case ID Unique identifier for the system test, test case that will verify the requirement.
