Moderated caucus

Motion for a moderate caucus of 14 minutes with a speaking time of 1 minute on the current
state of the US in Hiroshima and Admiral Husband E Kimmel’s decision to imprison Japanese
Civilians.
Good morning to the dignitaries and the respected chair. I, Lieutenant Commander Shigeharu
Murata, would like to start off by condemning the invasion of the US onto Japanese Soil. Neither
will the Japanese government nor will the people of japan let this action pass lightly. As stated
by the rear admiral in a previous meeting, Japan has a strong sense of nationality and strong
unifying culture. It is only expected for such unified and patriotic citizens to show resistance to a
foreign power but Admiral Kimmel has chosen the most unlawful measure to deal with this.
Arresting the citizens, a violation of human rights. The US seems to preach peace and
negotiations but thinks that arresting innocent civilians is a justified move. I would like to remind
the committee that this decision was made only hours after the invasion of hiroshima. The US
would like to impose embargos and want to maintain peace and negotiate peace with the
Japanese but will not do the same for innocent civilians in a captured city.
