Hello, my name is Juan and today I am going to talk about a specific topic of the
language and the question is how many languages are in the world? How do you know?

First, what is a language? The language is a faculty of the human being to express
himself and communicate with others through articulated sound or other sign systems.

The figure of how many languages there are in the world is not exact but according to
this page www.astex.es there are 7100 languages in the whole world.

The most spoken languages in the world are: 1 English 2 Chino Mandarin 3 Hindi
4 Español 5 Frances. In this picture we can see where each language is spoken in each
country of the world.

There are certain fields of linguistics that analyze the evolution of language, its believed
that language evolved with the evolution of man, a lot of the words that we use in the
modern days come from similar words that our ancestors used that may had referred to
other things but have now been repurposed to refer to other things. Most of the reasons
why some words have changed their meaning or even their structure are usually because
of extralinguistic factors such as the collide of two different cultures or important or
cultural events. 

Thanks to modern technology and an ancient artifact found in Iraq called the Kish tablet
we can ensure that the first language ever used was the Sumerian language, which dates
back to approximately 3500 A.C
