rackets to volley shuttlecocks over the net. The object of the game is to score points by
directing the shuttlecock into the territory of the opposition. It was first played as a kid's
game in the 1600s. Players used simple small wooden bats and feathered shuttlecocks,
no net, and the goal of the game was to simply prevent the shuttle from touching the
ground. The shuttlecock must be hit in such a way that the opponent may not be able to
return the favor in order to score a point. The shuttlecock then lands on the ground. A
player can also score if their opponent hits the shuttlecock over the net or outside the
court. For a set number of points, the entire game continues. Whoever crosses that limit
is the winner. the number of faults committed by the opposition during the game
determines the points. The maximum number of points is typically 20–21. Furthermore,
the point restriction is increased if the score is tied at 20. The game will be won by the
next player to score a point.
