‘Im opposite to water, organic or synthetic heat transfer
‘media offer the option of heating, cooting or controling
temperature without high system pressures. Operating
at temperatures of up 10 350°C (662 °F) is possible in
pressure less systems, and the upper temperature tnit
is curently 400 °C (752 °F).
In connection with developments in the area of heat
‘transfer instalations and thelr liquids, the standard
‘Dil 4754 has been compiled. Ariong other things,
‘his standard specifies the safety requirements and
the operation of pumps in thermal of crcuttion
systems. Here, t00, volute casing pumps as per
EN 733 have become the technology of choice.

ZIN, ZTK, ZT1~ The thermal oil pumps
For tharmal pumping a terperatures of upto
360°C (682°F) in thermal systoms, the models
ZN, ZTK and ZTI have been developed. The higher
requiraments for operational say, environmental
‘rendiness and reduction of operating costs have
been mat consistent in these designs. The same
(oes forthe contents ofthe standards DIN 4754 and
11733. Al pressure loaded componens are made
Gf tough materials such as GGG 40.3 (Ductile iron).
“The heat bari located behind the hydraulic system
can be used to substantially reduce heat losses. In
adton, the pumps have a thermally soled bearing
carrie. siding sealing cartidge compensates any
‘expansion that occurs due to heat, thus preventing
distortion between the pump and coating. An
addtional throtle gap achieves a favourable deorease
in omporture wth ogard tothe shat sel. This
‘makes it possible to use simple, uncooled shaft seas
‘The models fer onl inthe form ofthe pump
casing. While the ZTK has a volute casing with axial
intake and rail eischarge connection, the 77 has
aniline easing, which canbe installs erect in
the pipeline system. Gotn pumps are designed as
compact assembles.

‘Based on an increasing environmental consciousness,
tighter regulations (such as TA-Luft, German Technical
Instructions on Air Quality Control) and the justiied
demand for more safety, sealless pumps are increas-
ingly being used. (n particular, when pumping synthetic
neat transter media, which can be classified as
‘hazardous to health, magnetically coupled pumps have
‘become the technology of choice. A nermeticaly
sealed magnetic coupling, however is also the optimal
solution when it must be ensured thatthe heat
transfer medium does not came into contact with the
atmosphere, especialy with oxygen.
