INTEPRETATION
The Data is taken from RBI regarding the Net state value added of five states over the last two
decades. The data shows a huge disparity between the five states .
Observation:
1. Out of the five states taken for the study, Arunachal Pradesh is the worst performing state,
despite being rich in physical and human resources.
2. Andhra Pradesh is the best performing state among the five but it still lags behind most of
others states of India.
3. While the other states have touched the NSVA at Lakh crore but Arunachal Pradesh lags far
behind.
CAUSES FOR UNDER-DEVELOPMENT OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH:
1. Isolation from the rest of the India : The region’s accessibility has always remained weak
due to geographical reasons and under developed transport links with rest of the country.
2. Lack of efficient infrastructure : It has very weak physical as well as social infrastructure
which explains the under development of the region.
3. Slow pace of industrial growth : its trade routes were cut off after independence and
hence it has less industrial growth.
4. Territorial Conflicts: There are historical inter-state as well as international territorial
conflicts which hampers its growth.
5. Insurgency and Political Issues: The North Eastern states have witnessed a rise in insurgent
activities and regional movements with a feeling of alienation from other states.

CAUSES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH

1. The state has a well developed social , physical, and industrial infrastructure as well as
virtual infrastructure.
2. It has good power , airport , IT , and port infrastructure.
3. It has good human capital
