Greetings! “Liber Tiamat: the Book of Unbecoming” is your first book. Could you
please introduce yourself to our readers and talk a bit about your background?

I am what you could call “self-taught” or “self-initiated” in the fields of philosophy, mysticism
and the occult. From a relatively young age I would read any book on those topics that I could
get my hands on.

Because of some personal experiences, I knew that what people called “magic” was real to at
least some degree. My main interest during those first years of studying the topic was to
understand the underlying mechanisms of “magic”.

It was after some years that I would develop a focus on the more anticosmic aspects of the
occult and philosophy.

Thinking back to those times, it becomes apparent for me that those ideas and philosophies
were always a core part of my psyche and my fascination with pessimistic and nihilistic
philosophies, with anticosmic occultism and gnosticism was an unconscious need to create a
“doorway” to externalize my internal ideas and philosophy.

This is a very short description of my path towards this present Work. I wrote “Liber Tiamat”
under the moniker “XI/XIII” which represents the very essence of this Work: the alchemical
mixture of Chaosophy and Necrosophy.

Can you tell our readers the reasoning behind the book’s title? Why Tiamat, and why
does it have the “book of unbecoming” undertitle?

I was always fascinated by ancient mesopotamian mythology. I cannot explain it, but I always
felt a sort of a connection to those civilisations and especially to Tiamat herself. The
connection I feel with Tiamat is not a religious one but rather a psychological one.

Because of this connection and the essence of this Work, I could dedicate it to nobody else
other than the Mother of Nothingness - Tiamat herself.

The undertitle is meant to represent the focus, or purpose of this book. It is a book that argues
for nonexistence and at the same time describes a procedure of alchemical nature that
prepares one’s soul and Spirit to un-become.

Unbecoming has a double meaning; it means to un-become, to unexist, but also the term
“unbecoming” is used to describe a negative aspect of someone.

Those who will not agree with my views will perceive this Work as “unbecoming” but those
who agree will embrace the term and embark on a journey upon the path of Unbecoming.

“Liber Tiamat” was clearly a huge undertaking, considering it has hundreds of sigils
and hundreds of pages covering dozens of different subjects. How was the process
of researching for it? How long did it take you to complete it?

“Liber Tiamat” started originally as sort of my personal grimoire and a notebook where I wrote
some philosophical thoughts and views. As I experimented with rituals and other practices,
over time it evolved into something more and it seemed appropriate to try and publish it.

It took me about five years, from the moment I decided to publish it, to finish. But an argument
can be made that in reality it took many more years than that. I would characterize the process
as rather exciting for me.

“Liber Tiamat” sits firmly in the anticosmic current. What does “anticosmic” mean
to you? Why does it resonate with you so much that you decide to write a book
about it?

“Anticosmic” for me is a term that describes the emotion of righteous disappointment, the just
and wrathful judgment of the demiurge’s crime and the disillusionment that comes with those
concepts. To be “anticosmic” is to be against the very idea of the Cosmos, of existing. And here
another term manifests: “acosmic”. “Acosmic” and “anticosmic” are of the same essence, but
their relationship can be best described with mathematical terms; “acosmic” is the wish to
return to Zero, if Cosmos is 1 then to be “anticosmic” is to embody the essence of -1. I think
that it is impossible to be “anticosmic” without being “acosmic” and vice versa.

There are several references to Babilonian myths and entities in the book, even
though your approach to many of the subjects (death, suicide, the modern world
and its trappings) is clearly the result of observing humanity’s current issues. Why
did you choose to blend ancient and modern concepts and approaches?

I do not perceive those issues as strictly “current”. For me, the chain of events that created
“current” problems started around 12.000 years ago when we (as a species) forsook the
relevant equilibrium of the hunter-gatherer natural lifestyle, for the aberrant lifestyle of
agriculture. It is that act of Original Sin that created the need and means for the development
of civilisation and by extension the un-natural lifestyle of today.

I believe that existence, no matter how idyllic or ideal, is ultimately a corruption of the absolute
equilibrium of non-being, however, if existence is imposed upon us, there is a natural and an
unnatural way of existing. What we did 12.000 years ago was a full dedication towards an
unnatural way of being.

I use ancient and mythological symbolism because I think that from that point in time, 12.000
years ago and forwards, we became progressively more and more corrupt. I think that ancient
civilisations were purer and Spiritually richer than we are today. That is why I think that we can
find deep truths (philosophical and spiritual) in ancient mythology if we analyze it from a
symbolic point of view.

That being said, many of my views and ideas are similar to some ideas of ancient eastern
philosophy and let’s not forget the disgraced ancient Greek philosopher “Hegesias of Cyrene”,
whose philosophical views may be perceived as hedonistic but argue that not being born is
preferred to life’s shortcomings and who, according to legend, would preach suicide.

“Liber Tiamat” is certainly an eclectic tome, covering a vast range of themes and
approaches, from runology, to existentialism, and black magic ritualism. How did
you make sure it all served the purpose of creating a cohesive system?

As stated previously, this whole system was developed, slowly over many years, to serve as my
own personal system of practice with the goal of attunement of the practitioner with
Anticosmic and Acosmic vibrations. Magic is just magic, it is the usage of specific natural
mechanisms. Magic by itself, as a concept, is devoid of ideology but is influenced by it. The
various systems and mechanisms of magic can be modified and adjusted to serve any
ideology/philosophy and any goal (within reason and the laws of those natural mechanisms of
course), so that’s what I did: modified and adjusted various systems and mechanisms of magic
to serve as a path to walk upon.

I think that the core concept behind “Liber Tiamat” is what you call “the philosophy
of Unbecoming”. Can you explain to our readers what this is?

The philosophy of Unbecoming, is a philosophical view and a mindset. It is the general mindset
that the practitioner must have in order to embark on the journey described in this book.

This is not a doctrine, it is not a religion. Every individual may have their own interpretation of
the philosophical core of this Work, within reason. Generally, a person that believes that
nonexistence is preferred to existence embodies the philosophy of Unbecoming and will in my
opinion find value in this Work. On the other hand, someone that thinks that life is worth living
and that wants to bring more people to life, will find this Work “unbecoming”.

Who is the intended reader of “Liber Tiamat”? Who do you think will benefit most
from reading it?

Generally, people who, like me, feel that nonexistence is preferred to existence. Especially
people who have those views and ideas inside them and who have not yet manifested those
ideas externally.

This book is written in a way that people who are completely ignorant of the various
mechanisms of magical practice will be able to comprehend said mechanisms and use them
effectively.

You understand the occult and magic practices as another form of science. You
write: “(...) Esotericism and occultism are, in my opinion, akin to scientific fields. They
obey the laws of causality even when they seem acasual. There are logical steps and
limits in occult practice and esotericism. There are natural mechanisms in effect,
mechanisms that we do not fully comprehend or understand or even perceive.” Can
you elaborate?

Some occultists use terms like “acasual” to describe magic. This in my opinion is a poor
understanding of what magic is. Magic is not some deus ex machina or divine intervention.
Magic is an effect which may defy one’s understanding of the universe but is the result of an
unknown (maybe even unknowable) chain of events that obeys the laws of causality even if
said laws may be unknowable to us. Just because we don’t know how something works it
doesn’t mean that it is “magic” (as in the superstitious understanding of the term).

There are also limitations: one may not grow wings and fly or open physical portals to other
dimensions to travel to. That is because the laws of the universe prohibit those effects.

In my understanding, magic works on a more personal, psychological and internal dimension.

That being said, when we use certain paraphernalia in rituals they do create an effect. It is
impossible to say if those effects are purely psychological or if they extend to physical reality (if
there even is such a thing as “physical reality”).

The attempt, however, to understand those mechanisms to the best of our abilities can only be
described as a scientific undertaking, even if scientists disagree.

I would ask those scientists that strongly disagree: didn't the scientific community ridicule
Nikola Tesla and call him a “magician”? Didn’t the scientific community of the era disregard
scientists that were later proven right, such as Ludwig Boltzmann and Ignaz Semmelweis?

Are you currently working on any new material? What’s next for you as an author?

I am currently working on some new ideas and systems to expand upon those presented in
“Liber Tiamat”.

One of those is the implementation of music and the creation of musical/sonic sigils.

I’m hoping that my experience writing “Liber Tiamat” will prove helpful so that the
development of those new systems does not take me 5+ years.

That’s all for now, thank you for your time.

Thank you for the interview and for supporting my Work. And the readers for being restless
Spirits.

Sapere Aude.
