1.0 Introduction
I think I wont commend much on the content anymore for introduction
But I do notice your citations is totally wrong, no changes at all for citation, suppose to be name of the
author , please look at the citation document in google classroom

Drug trafficking is the process by which individuals manufacture and distribute illegal
drugs throughout the country. An example of drug trafficking is someone making
methamphetamines in his basement. Another example of drug trafficking is that
person then going out and selling his homemade meth to the public. Every part of the
process involved in making and distributing illicit drugs falls under the banner that is
drug trafficking. Drug trafficking examples typically take the form of more illicit, or
scheduled, drugs, like cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamines. (Content Team,
2019). Drug trafficking is getting more and more serious in Malaysia. The statistics
below show that the number of cases and offenders of  drug trafficking in Malaysia is
increasing from 2008 to 2014. Cases of drug trafficking in  2008 had 13,371 cases,
2014 has increased to 21,619. Offenders of drug trafficking have also increased from
2008 to 2014, which is from 20,781 people to 31,551 people. (Springer Cham, 2016)
The number of drug addicts arrested by the National Anti -Drug Agency Malaysia
decreased 20.8 percent to 20,643 persons in 2020 as compared to 26,080 persons in
2019. The majority of drug addicts were male (2020: 95.3%, 2019: 95.7%), while the
percentage of females was 4.3% in 2019 and 4.7% in 2020. Although the number of
drug addicts has decreased, this does not mean that the number of drug trafficking
also decreased. This result shows that both drug addicts and drug trafficking are still
considered a serious problem in Malaysia. This is because if there are many people
addicted to drugs, they will need someone to help them obtain the drug. There are a
lot of drug cartels in Malaysia, and it is very easy to acquire the drugs from them
through many ways. Although some of the drug cartels were caught and got
punishments, they still continue to sell drugs to the drug addicts and this will cause
drug trafficking to increase and get more severe. (DATO' SRI DR. MOHD UZIR
MAHIDIN, 2021)

According to the report of Sin Chew daily, the drug cartels obtained the drug supply
from the Golden Triangle and intended to ship to Indonesia for sale but they were
stopped by the police. The police arrested 4 men and 1 woman and seized 653 kg of

3
methamphetamine, 7.7 kg of heroin and 35.3 kg of ecstasy. The police found a batch
of methamphetamine, heroin and ecstasy pills worth RM 16.4 million. A day after
that, the police subsequently launched raids in Selangor and Kedah and finally
arrested three Malay men and one woman aged 25 to 39. The results of the police
investigations revealed that the drugs originated in the Golden Triangle area and the
two drug cartels have been active in drug trafficking since the end of last year. The
arrested suspect has been remanded for seven days and is being investigated under
Section 39 B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. (Zhang Wei Yu, 2022) The other
drug trafficking case in Malaysia is at Johor Bahru. There were five people including
3 men and 2 women facing a total of 18 drug trafficking charges in Malaysia. They
were accused of trafficking different types of drugs, such as ketamine and
methamphetamine, which were between 102g and 210 kg. Besides, they were charged
under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 that is punishable under
Section 39B(2) of the same act. The charge carries the mandatory death penalty.
(Rizalman Hammim, 2021) Since 1983, Malaysia has declared the drug problem as
the number one enemy of the nation as it is not only regarded as a social problem but
also a threat to our national security. Malaysia has conducted a review on the National
Drug Policy (NDP 2017) which was approved by the Cabinet in March 2017. The
revised national policy is an extensive policy that incorporates both demand and
supply reduction approaches and underlines the following five thrusts of action:
preventive education; treatment and rehabilitation; law enforcement; harm reduction;
and international cooperation. Along with the NDP 2017, Malaysia’s continuous
effort in combating drugs is also evidenced in its national legislations that tackle the
drug problem in a multi-angle approach.(MALAYSIA COUNTRY REPORT ON
DRUG ISSUES 2019, 12-15 MARCH 2019) The four national legislations empowers
the government to take strict measures against all kinds of drug trafficking activities
in the country which is Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 Poisons Act 1952;Dangerous
Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985; and Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of
Property) Act 1988. In section 39B DDA 1952 in 2017, drug trafficking is punishable
by death at which a person found guilty of the offence will be punished with
mandatory death penalty.(Policy responses to drug issues in Malaysia , 2011). The
new provisions of Section 39B DDA 1952 did not entirely remove the death penalty.
The court is allowed to use its discretion to impose a sentence , other than the death
penalty. In recent developments Malaysia is reviewing its stance on the abolishment

4
of death penalty under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Attorney-
General Office.(MALAYSIA COUNTRY REPORT ON DRUG ISSUES 2019, 12-15

2.0 Reasons why is this segment is selected for review

We have selected the section on mental health disorder due to the following reasons.

What do u mean falling of the youth?

Write up should follow this format

Main point

Elaboration

Evidence /data / citation

Please elaborate first before you enter news as this is under evidence

We are concerned about the falling of the youth generation into drug trafficking.
Nowadays, the amount of Malaysia’s youth generation involved in drug trafficking is
increasing rapidly. According to the Free Malaysia News, A new mum, her husband
and a 21-year-old youth were charged in the magistrates’ court here today with
trafficking 6.8kg of nimetazepam at a house in Cheras two weeks ago. Gan Pei Hong,
21, who gave birth just two months ago, her husband Cha Wee Sang, 31, and Yap
Yau Yang were alleged to have committed the offense at Taman Segar on June 5. As
the drug trafficking charge, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment of up
to 30 years, is only triable in a High Court (FMT Reporters, 2021). Based on the news
above, it indicated that young people are more and more involved in drug trafficking,
which will have a serious impact on our country in terms of social and economic
consequences. The social and economic costs related to youth substance abuse are
high. They result from the financial losses and distress suffered by alcohol- and drug-

5
related crime victims, increased burdens for the support of adolescents and young
adults who are not able to become self-supporting, and greater demands for medical
and other treatment services for these youth (Gropper, 1985). 1985??Many of them
are controlled and given commission by the head of a drug trafficking group since
they have no choice but only keep involved themselves into drug trafficking to
survive. Malaysia is an underdeveloped country. The youth generation is one of the
most important assets since their ability and characteristics decide the future of our
country. Let’s imagine that most of the youth had been involved in drug trafficking or
drug abuse issues, the laws in Malaysia judged death penalty or imprisonment and
who can handle our country? We should protect our youth generation to avoid them
falling into the trap of drug trafficking and this is one of the reasons that we select this
topic to find out the reasons for causing drug trafficking in Malaysia in order to solve
it as soon as possible.

6
Why put bracket in your essay??? Bracket suppose to be just citation this paragraph is
weak , citation format is wrong, only one citation?? Write up don’t really explain well

Next, we are also alarmed that the drug trafficking issue brings negative
consequences toward our society. The cost to the community and society of drug
abuse is colossal. This can happen as a result of increased levels of crime (gang wars,
kidnapping, extortion); the erosion of social capital; compromised rule of law; the
corruption of the elite and/or the political system; gambling and prostitution; drug
abuse; and the loss of community cohesion. The main symptom or manifestation of
the destabilization of civil society is rising levels of crime, notably violent crime,
which has a strong impact on consumption patterns (such as the need to pay for
security services) and on individual freedom (notably freedom of movement). Drug-
related crime includes acquisitive crime, gang wars, violence in public spaces,
extortion and kidnapping. The existence of a large illicit drug industry disrupts social
cohesion involving the family, the community and the state and seriously erodes
social capital. Without social capital, development is unlikely to occur. (INCB, 2018)

3.0 Review of points
3.1 Financial incentives (Agree)

From internet research?? Don’t start your sentence with this, just citation if u are refering to any
report
Citation is totally wrong
You write about most people involve in drug trafficking mainly because of huge money inside your
elaboration or evidence , there is nothing??? How much they earn???
You are just suggesting that they drag in students from school to join this has nothing to do with
financial incentive
Weak elaboration

We for all intents and purposes agree with the statement that financial incentives
really are the main factor that causes drug trafficking. From internet research, we find
out that drug dealers normally for all intents and purposes make their money for the
most part come rapidly compared to definitely normal jobs and these essentially are
one of the reasons why more and kind of more people nowadays generally are
involved to work as drug dealers, which actually is fairly significant. What for the
most part is even more actually shocking is, drug dealers really are now targeting
school children to also act as the pushers in their school because they mostly find out
that students are definitely more honest compared to adult dealers, which generally is
fairly significant.(Drug Dealers are Horrifyingly Roping in Students to Sell Drugs for
As Cheap As RM10 Per Pack, 2017). Let us take a look the percentage of drug and
substance use among Malaysian youth, of the population of 11,129,31 youth aged 15
until 40 years, the prevalence of uncontrolled drug and substance among lifetime
users was specifically found to really be 5.5%, while for those who definitely had
taken drugs in the pretty past 30 days or who currently use them, the prevalence of
DSU actually was found literally be 3.5%. So, even students kind of was their target
to basically make money. That's why pretty much more and fairly more people seek
drug dealers as their work in a generally big way.(Prevalence of Drug and Substance
Use among Malaysian Youth: A Nationwide Survey, 2022)

3.2 The possibility of escaping the gallows (Disagree)

This paragraph is still acceptable, only adivise you can polish your write up, is messy but overall point
acceptable
Citation is weak, what do u mean online??

We disagree with the statement because Malaysia has strict laws and regulations
against drugs. As we know Malaysia is the country that is very strict in drug
trafficking, the punishment causing drug trafficking is death and there also no
guarantee that all accused persons charged for drug trafficking will be hanged to
death. Judges in Malaysia are extremely cautions in meting out death penalty and
would only do so in the absence of reasonanle doubt. There is less possibility of
escaping the gallows with the evidence shown in Malaysia 2019. On February 5 there
were three locals and a China national were sentenced to death by the High Court
after they were found guilty of two drug trafficking charges. They were Lee Ee Feng,
27, Henry Wong Chun Kiet, 28, Rina Abdullah, 28, and Zhang Hai Ting, 28.They
faced two charges under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which
is punishable under Subsection 39B(2) of the same act, read together with Section 34
of the Penal Code. (online, 2022).The Section provides for a death penalty or jail for
life. If the accused are not sentenced to death, they would be whipped not less than 15
strokes. They were also found guilty of six drug possession charges under Section
12(2) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which is punishable under Section 12(3) of the
same Act, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code. The section provides for a
fine not exceeding RM100,000 or maximum five years’ jail or both upon
conviction. In passing the sentence, Judge Dr Lim Hock Leng said the prosecution had
proven the case beyond reasonable doubt. He said the identity and weight of the
drugs, actual possession and common intention had been established. As a result, even
if the criminal hired an expert lawyer to argue in favor of drug trafficking, Malaysia's
judgment was unconcerned since Malaysia is a country that is particularly stringent in
cases of drug activity. (DANGEROUS DRUGS ACT 1952 (REVISED 1980), 1980)

9
3.3 The practice of corruption(disagree)

Check and finalize your citation

Overall write up is clear but please make sure you cite the source properly and edit the words from
article or journal
A lot of direct plagiarism but the argument is acceptable

We disagree that corruption is the main factor of drug trafficking in Malaysia.

Although there was corruption in Malaysia, we believe that there is no direct relation
between drug trafficking and corruption. The number of investigation papers opened
by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recorded a decrease of 1.75
per cent to 1007 cases in 2020 as compared to 1,039 cases in 2019. Investigation
papers for all types of offenses decreased in 2020 except for bribery which increased
9.2 per cent.In 2020, the number of arrests made by the MACC decreased by 9.4 per
cent. This decrease was contributed by bribery (28.4%), false claims (23.5%) and
misuse position (17.1%). Meanwhile, arrests for accepting bribery and other offenses
increased. (DOSM, 2021). These statistics indicated a slight decrease of corruption
cases in 2020 compared to 2019. Meanwhile, the number of drug addicts arrested by
the National Anti -Drug Agency Malaysia decreased 20.8 percent to 20,643 persons in
2020 as compared to 26,080 persons in 2019. These statistics show that both slight
decrease of corruption and decrease in drug trafficking cases in Malaysia are not
directly related. It doesn’t make sense that only 1.75 percent decrease in corruption
cases causing 20 percent of drug trafficking cases to decrease. According to the
announcement of Malaysia Financial Minister Tengku Datu Seri Zafrul, the
government has introduced a comprehensive policy on disclosure of conflict-of-
interest for government procurement; implemented a corporate liability provision
under section 17A of the MACC Act; and established the National Anti-Financial
Crime Centre (NFCC). The NFCC will coordinate integrated operations among
enforcement agencies, maintain a centralized data system and carry out activities
relating to the prevention of financial crimes. Tengku Zafrul further noted that
Malaysia had improved its percentile ranking over the past 10 years in the voice and
accountability, regulatory quality, rule of law, and control of corruption dimensions.
Similarly, it ranks higher compared to the average of the East Asia and Pacific region,
especially in the government effectiveness and regulatory quality dimensions. These
commitments across the government agencies are bearing fruit. In 2021, the

10
disclosures of suspicious transaction reports have successfully resulted in 70 arrests
for various offenses; RM136 million of criminal proceeds being frozen or seized; and
revenue recovery of more than RM255 million. (Fayyadh Jaafar, 2022). Based on the
facts above, I believe that the Malaysian government is constructing a mature and
successful anti corruption and anti drug trafficking system. The facts showed the
result and Malaysia has one of the strictest laws against drug trafficking which applies
a heavy penalty to corruption therefore we disagree that corruption is the main factor
that causes drug trafficking in Malaysia.

11
3.4 Demand for drug creates a continuous need for the supply of drugs
(agree)

Don’t start your paragraph with on July 17,

Main point
Elaboration
Evidence

Evidence ( citation ) always the last you must elaborate first before you put any citation
Please do not use short form, Jul ??
Weak write up, this argrement suppose to be easy compared to disagreement
But I don’t see much evidence to prove that demand in Malaysia for drug is high that why drug
trafficking getting serious
No data to show is becoming more common for students or youth to take drug
And limited data to show that this is related to youth

We agree with the statement because we have observed such incidents in

Malaysia. On Jul 17, 2022 the Malacca police launched "Ops Noda" (Ops Noda) at
the entertainment center arresting two men suspected of drug use and five men and
women suspected of participating in prostitution activities.Law enforcement officers
arrested two people on the spot under Section 15(1)(A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act
1952. Based on the news above, it showed that our country has a very serious drug
issue especially in the pub or discos. These pubs and discos become the main market
of the drug trafficking because almost all customers are youth generations who are
looking for nightlife entertainment. They will fall into the trap called “able help the
party-goers to unwind”. Young people are at a stage that still haven’t developed a
healthy and correct mindset which will make it easier to become the target of drug
dealers. Peer influence and the adventurous nature of the young people also become
one of the factors causing them to be involved in drug abuse. Not only that, there are
some pubs that work illegally to allow teenagers who are underage and allow them to
go in the pub and all of this only costs some “tips money under table”. These
teenagers without the correct mindset become continuous demands of drug trafficking
and it causes an endless supply of drugs.

4.1.1 Personal experiences

The story I have discovered is about drug trafficking. When I was 17 in middle
school, I was envious of my friends buying things we couldn't afford when we were
the same age. I thought their families were rich.Because every time I watch their
Instagram story is full of luxury items with a bunch of friends showing off. Until one
night when I went out with my friends I was surprised to find that my friend was
driving a car parked on the side of the factory street with an extremely blackened
tinted window which was allocated in Kota Kinabalu. There were several uncles
standing outside of his car. At that time, I thought they was looking for their friend,
but the next second action made me surprised, when he opened his car window and
stretched out his hand, I saw that he was holding a few packets of white powder
(drug) in his hand and followed the uncles and took some cash for him. From my
viewpoint, I believe that my friends were influenced by their friends to begin drug
trafficking since the money cash flow is rapid. But, unfortunately, one of my friends
was apprehended by police for drug trafficking. According to an internet search of the
Dangerous Drug Law Act of 1952, my friend was sent to the reformatory since he was
still under the age of 18. (232 Words)

4.1.2 Personal Thoughts

After I went through this story, I felt our precious life is really very important, created
by god. From my personal point of view, it would be better if our lives were poor.
Remember not to touch drugs or work as a drug “dealer” because it will destroy your
life. You not only harm yourself, but also your family. The most important thing for
your relatives and friends and your parents. Our parents raised us with hardships to
watch us get ahead and not do things that hurt the world. If we are poor, do not make
money from drugs. The most vital thing to do when we are young is to be filial to our
parents. Moreover, I also do not think it’s worth it, do not because of temporary
madness ruin your whole great life in future.Remember that there are still many

14
people out there who are more miserable than us, do not  ruin a great future for a
momentary quick money because of drugs. Lastly, remember that life is a precious
thing, you never know when you are going to lose it. Live life while you can, because
you never know which seconds are going to be your last.(203 Words)

4.1.3 Values Learnt 1

I learn about the importance of knowledge. Knowledge can improve methods of

education and it can have a significant impact on individuals and aid in the battle
against substance addiction on several levels. Knowledge will be able to provide you
knowledge necessary to avoid risky situations and information to make healthier
personal choices and a healthy mindset. Moreover, it also enables you in creating
personal strategies for avoiding both negative peers and the inherent social pressures
associated with substance use in social scenarios. As they said, “prevention is better
than cure”. Drug education beyond providing help in substance drug trafficking
prevention, drug education is a large proponent of providing safe and healthy
resources that promote healthy living. For example, it may raise awareness of
community needs, such as a lack of available gyms, lack of proper community health
facilities or addiction treatment. Drug education shows what resources may be
missing in an affected community and can increase awareness and safety in the
community.(163 Words)

4.1.4 Values Learnt 2

I learned about the importance of peer influence, and good friends are good for our
health. However, bad friends will influence you and lead you down a criminal path.
Good friends can help you celebrate good times and provide support during bad or
emotional moments. Moreover, friends also can prevent isolation and loneliness and
give you a chance to offer needed companionship. Not only that, good friends also can
boost your happiness and reduce your stress and improve your self-confidence and
self worth. But, for toxic friends or negative friends it will only influence you to do
bad things that may destroy your bright life in future. For example taking drugs, drug
trafficking or others. Hence, picking a healthy friendship is extremely important
especially for those who just stepped in secondary school. As my own words, friends
do not always last forever because at every stage of our life, we may have different

15
social circles. While we may be feeling lonely in secondary or high school because
we still have not found our niche, we may be social butterflies in college among other
peers who understand you better. So choose your friends wisely.(193 Words)

4.2.1 Personal Experience

I got my own experience about my friends doing drug trafficking. My friends are
doing drug trafficking. I knew them when I was studying in primary school. Because
my primary school is a bad secondary school, they met some very bad friends there.
After graduating from primary school, they study at a secondary school that is beside
my primary school. Their seniors who had become addicted to drugs and also became
drug dealers. So, my friends were also affected by them and started taking drugs and
doing drug trafficking. They started to sell to students that same school with them or
the students that study nearby. They also do drug trafficking by using motorcycles and
cars. Some of my friends get caught while carrying drugs passing the police block.
They spent almost RM100k per person to get out from death penalty. Some of my
friends also get caught at their drug store before they go into drug trafficking.(158
words)

4.2.2 Personal Thoughts

I think that the reason I got some friends doing drug trafficking is because the money
is a lot. It is also because doing drug trafficking cash flow is faster than other jobs and
it also no need to use much brain. Just because they are not good at studying, they
drop out from school and start working to earn money. I think they will do drug
trafficking for two reasons. One is they met and joined the wrong friends. Their
friends always bring them to do drug trafficking. Second, their parents always earn
money outside and have no time to take care of them. Just because many jobs that
don't require much of a brain are quite low, so they don’t want to do it. They choose
to become drug dealers and do drug trafficking although they know the risk is high
and the result of being caught by police is very serious. I think parents need to take

16
care and know about their children's mind and lifestyle to ensure that their children
don't do drug trafficking. (177 words)

 4.2.3 Value learnt 1

I learned about the importance of self-love. I should keep my lifestyle safe and
healthy. First I know that drug trafficking is a bad job. It will cause more people to
take drugs. It also will cause me to be caught by police if I do drug trafficking. Other
than that, I will also have got many enemies that will risk my life. For me, I will avoid
these bad friends that will take me to do drug trafficking and taking drugs. I will
distinguish what I can do and what I cannot do. I will join the friends that will take me
and help me in the proper business. But for now, I will spend my time studying hard
and find a proper job after I graduate. Although a proper job starting work salary is
quite low, but it is safer than doing drug trafficking and the job will maybe cause me
to die. Self-love can make me live longer and happy.(163 words)

4.2.4 Value learnt 2

I learned about the importance of responsibility. I know my responsibility now is to

study properly and become a good guy. If I had free time, I would work a proper part
time job to earn some pocket money. I won’t be doing drug trafficking although the
salary is high. If I do drug trafficking, it will cause many problems for me. I will
spend many times in jail and also waste much money on escaping death penalty. It
will cause my parents headache and sadness. I know my responsibility is to become a
good child for my parents, so I won’t let them feel upset with me. If I do drug
trafficking, maybe I will be taking drugs. This will cause me to spend more money on
drugs and be unhealthy to the body. It could have many unnecessary problems. So,
my responsibility is to live a better lifestyle and be happy, not every day scared of
police and business enemies. I will not be doing drug trafficking for my whole life.

4.3.1 Personal Experience

The drug trafficking story that I have experienced was from one of my relatives. Tan
is my relative, he was involved in drug trafficking a few years ago in Thailand. Tan
has been secretly selling drugs to the customer due to the financial problems. His
customers are not only from Malaysia but also a lot of them are from Thailand.
Besides, he also acquired the drugs from Thailand and sold them. His family members
or close friends kept advising him not to be involved in drug trafficking but he did not
listen. 1n 2015, he was entering Thailand from Malaysia and secretly transferred more
than 20kg of the drugs to Thailand. But unfortunately, he was arrested by the police
and he was accused by the Thai government. In the end, he was convicted and
sentenced to jail for 10 years in Thailand. His wife and kids were left in Malaysia and
his family had to lie to his kids that he worked in a far away country. At the beginning
of the year, he was released earlier than expected due to his outstanding performance
in prison. The Thai police have informed his family of the news to bring him back to
Malaysia. (202 words)

4.3.2 Personal Thought

In my opinion, I think that drug trafficking is a serious crime and no one should be
involved in these criminal activities, especially youth people. It will bring a lot of
severe consequences towards a person, and also will affect family members, friends
and more. Some people are involved in drug trafficking due to the financial problem,
but I think that there are many legitimate job opportunities in Malaysia and those jobs
also can earn a lot of money, not just drug trafficking. Besides, the punishment of
drug trafficking in Malaysia is death penalty. It is a disgrace to the country and
especially to the family. Some of the family members will be influenced by them and
they will start to participate in drug trafficking. This will also ruin the harmony of the
family and even lead to the breakdown of a complete family. Besides, in my opinion,
you may have to live a sneaky life if involved in drug trafficking because you will be
arrested by police at any time and it is not worth it to live a life like this. I think that

18
we should stay away from drug activities so that we can have a better life. (201
words)

4.3.3 Value Learnt 1

I learned about the importance of responsibility. As a student and also a young person,
I think I should be responsible for taking care of myself by not to participate in illegal
activities such as drug trafficking since involve in crime will definitely punished by
imprisonment and death penalty. Moreover, I should also focus on myself by doing
the right things that will improve my value and trying to be a good person instead of
being involved in criminal activities. In addition, I have learnt about the importance of
responsibility by not letting my family and friends worry about me. Family and close
friends are the most important and caring persons in the world and I think I should
learn to become a trustworthy person and grow into a specific role within the family
and friends so that they can lean on me instead of keep worrying about me.
Furthermore, I also learnt about the importance of responsibility to the country as a
citizen. As a responsible citizen of the country, I will not commit crimes that shame
the country and destroy the reputation of the country. I will make the country proud of
me by becoming a successful person to benefit the country. (204 words)

4.3.4 Value Learnt 2

I learned about the importance of integrity. I have learned to be honest and have
strong moral principles. It is not easy to stick to your morals and values, especially
when people around you try to shape you into a bad way, for example involved in
drug trafficking. Learning about the importance of integrity means living my life
according to my morals and values and if someone’s values are different from mine, I
don't compromise. For example,if drug trafficking is a bad thing in my eyes, then I
would not be involved in drug trafficking or anything related to drugs. My morals and
values would not allow me to live any other way. Moreover, by learning the
importance of integrity makes me become a better person, knowing what should be
done and what is not. It allows me to act with a clear conscience because I know I am
acting in line with my morals, values and ethics. (159 words)

4.4.1 Personal experience

When I am 12, I had watched a movie which talking about the true feel-good story of
how James Bowen, a busker and recovering drug addict, has his life transformed
when he meets a stray ginger cat. James Bowen is a homeless man and former heroin
addict, living on the streets of London, and down to his last bits of change. After a life
threatening, drug-related, incident, his support worker, Val, in an attempt to get him
off the street, gets him into a council flat, and prescribes him on methadone. On his
first night in his flat, James discovers a cat rifling through his food James later gets
Bob castrated and sets him free. However, Bob keeps following James into town,
eventually drawing more crowds of people, making James more wealthy, and he
eventually decides to keep Bob. Bob becomes a tourist hotspot. One night, while
returning home, James finds his old friend, Baz, unconscious on his flat estate,
overdosed on heroin. Baz later dies in hospital, and James finds out that Betty cannot
be around drug addicts, as her deceased brother had been one. One day, while
busking, James gets into an argument with a yob, causing the crowd to get in a brawl
with the man and James getting arrested for it. After being found innocent, he is
prohibited from busking for 6 months. Later on, James visits the offices of The Big
Issue to make some more money for him and Bob. He regains his popularity with
tourists by selling The Big Issue. After being accused of illegally selling magazines
on another vendor's patch, James and Bob are banned for a whole month. After going
back in business, James gets into an argument with a woman trying to buy Bob off
him, losing Bob in the scuffle. Bob does not return for a few days, leaving James
devastated. After Bob returns, James feels he is ready to come off the methadone.
After a week of withdrawal symptoms, James awakes, clean and healthy. A journalist,
Mary, requests to write a book about James and Bob after his Internet and media
popularity, and James agrees. James then fixes up his relationship with his father Jack,
and his life turns around for the better. (A Street Cat Named Bob, 2016).

4.4.2 Personal Thoughts

Although James once abandoned himself and became addicted to drugs, wandered for
many years, and did not have enough strength to detox, but he was very kind and
James has no hatred in his heart. I have seen many lives, those who have experienced
many setbacks, vicissitudes, and even framed, and who have no resentment or hatred
in their hearts, I especially admire, especially admire. When you meet such a person,
you will treat each other with sincerity and sincerity. Similarly, when we receive
hatred and hostility, we must let go of it - the other party has a lot of hatred in their
hearts that cannot be digested and accepted, and they don't even know it, so there will
be hostility and hatred. In my opinion, Bob is an animal, born with no prejudice
against drug addicts. Unexpectedly, this is precious to James, who has been
marginalized for a long time. This awkward equality between humans and animals
makes them feel loved and loved for each other. James' affection for Bob is his desire
for respect, care, and love. Lack of love is the reason why many drug addicts find it
difficult to get rid of drugs completely. Lack of love is the culprit that pushes many
people into the abyss of drug addiction. Other than that, drug can only bring
disadvantage to us and we shall not touch any drug under any situation with any
excuses.

I learned about the importance of repentance. I learned that people should face his
mistake and repent on it and try to fix it with his best effort just like James correcting
his mistake as a drug abuser. I should looking forward to his courage to repent on
mistake. Many people do make mistake but not so many people able to face their
problem and try to solve it. After James met Bob, he repent and know drug addiction
need to be stop immediately and he finally get rid of drug addiction by his own will
and improve his life. I learned repentance can make a huge impact to our life and I
should apply it to my daily life to repent my mistake made previously. It doesn’t
shame to make mistake and it is shame that we don’t want to admit our mistake and
just leave the bomb explode. Obviously James was right in choosing to redeem
himself, because it's a good start, who hasn't had a bad past? Since we are wrong, we
should correct it and pay for our own mistakes, so as to exchange for a better life that
should belong to us. It is still the very real saying, if you want to be reborn, you must
first choose self-salvation.

I also learned about the importance of self discipline. I learned that self discipline can
bring huge positive impact to our lifes just like James has a high self-discipline during
his recovery and fight against the drug. During the movie, he is struggling and suffer
during the recovery week and his self discipline pulled himself from the abyss of drug
and corruption of his life. After a long struggle with drug addiction, James
successfully got rid of drug addiction through self-restraint through his strong will and
distance from friends who are also addicted to drugs. Perhaps this is James' greatest
success, because this is another beautiful start of life. I believe that James was very
tormented at a certain moment, but he still persevered. The help of his friends and the
influence of the stray cat Bob would have James' success. Of course, it all depends on
James himself. If he can't exercise self-discipline, then he will lose the help of his
friends, or even spurn him; maybe the stray cat Bob will not break into James' life,
and there will be no perfect rebirth of James. I learned self discipline and I will
discipline myself to keep away from any drug since I already know what will drug
abuse bring to me. Everyone know what is wrong and we just need a little of strong
will and discipline to control our brain and make it send correct order to our body,
that is self discipline. I should discipline my self to prevent the mistakes of the past
from repeating the same mistakes, so that the changes at the beginning are killed by
our selfish desires; thus, it can lay the foundation for us to have a correct life.
