Processing of the Activity
1. What is a raw material?
- It is an unprocessed material that is used for creating goods or an intermediate
material that is a feedstock for future finished products. Also, input commodities
or inventories are known as raw materials, and they are what a business requires
to make its products. There are also two types of raw materials: direct raw
materials and indirect raw materials. Direct raw materials are used directly
throughout the production process, such as wood for a chair. In contrast, indirect
raw materials are completely utilized throughout the production process even if
they do not appear in the finished product.
