The movie "Breakthrough" by Roxann Dawson is based on a real story.

This story is centered

on two main characters: Joyce Smith, a believer in God, and John Smith. John is Brian’s and
Joyce Smith's adopted child. Despite the fact that John's parents are extremely caring, loving,
and compassionate toward him, John experiences the phases of self-discovery and puberty and
feels alienated and abandoned by his birth parents. He begins to rebel against his parents and
teachers. He changes into a different person, unaware of his true family history and
whereabouts. John and two of his friends slip into the frozen lake. He stays there for fifteen
minutes. John is rushed to the hospital, where he is declared dead. However, as Joyce cries
next to him, his heart starts to beat. He is finally saved after praying for his life with his friends
and family, and he goes back to school with a new respect for his new life and the people
around him. He has altered how he views his life and his family since being saved and returning
to school.

In the beginning, I felt annoyed because of John's behavior towards his parents because he
was an adopted child. After the accident, I felt emotional because John lost his life, but I felt
more emotional when God heard the prayer of Joyce, John's mother. I remember a scene in my
life when my niece had convulsions in the hospital. Her life was close to death at that time, but
God didn't let it happen. I learned here that even in the most difficult problems you will face and
go through, remember that our parents, and even the Lord, are always there for us. Whether
you are a real child or not, you must treat them with the same dignity, respect, and love that
they show you. In the trials you face, always remember that you always have a companion like
John and the people around him who love and pray for his speedy recovery. It is also proof that
having faith in God is a great help to anyone in the world we live in.
