ONLINE ENGLISH LANGUAGE EXAMINATION for the ERASMUS PROGRAMME

SAMPLE SPEAKING SESSION (25 pts.)

In this session, there are two parts. The following are sample questions that may be similar to
what you will see in the actual exam. Your answers will be assessed based on the following
criteria:

• accuracy
• pronunciation
• fluency
• vocabulary range
• content (variety of supporting details)

PART I: Independent Speaking


In the first part, you will be asked an independent speaking question. A sample question is given
below:

If you could live abroad, where would you go? Explain why you would go there. Include details
and examples to support your explanation

PART II: Talking about a topic

In the second part of speaking session, you are supposed to talk about a topic given. You will be
asked follow-up questions depending on your answers. A sample topic is given below:

SAMPLE TOPIC: Environmental Problems

Main prompt: To what extent are you worried about environmental problems?

Follow-up prompts:
• What do you think is the greatest threat to the environment?
• In what ways do you, or people you know, try to be environmentally friendly?
• How do you think lifestyles will be affected by changes in the environment?
• Do you think individuals can make a difference to the environment, or is it the responsibility of
governments and businesses?
