THE SIMPLE PAST
EL PASADO SIMPLE
PAST SIMPLE IS A VERB TENSE THAT IS USED TO DESCRIBE ACTIONS THAT HAVE HAPPENED IN A
PREVIOUS TIME AND ARE FINISHED. IN THE PAST SIMPLE TENSE, WE NOW HAVE TO LEARN AND USE
TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF VERB GROUPS, REGULAR VERBS AND IRREGULAR VERBS.
El Pasado Simple es un tiempo verbal que se usa para describir acciones que
han ocurrido en un tiempo anterior y que ya han terminado. En el tiempo verbal
de el pasado simple, ahora tenemos que aprender y usar dos tipos diferentes de
grupos de verbos, verbos regulares y verbos irregulares.
REGULAR VERBS USUALLY FORM THEIR PAST TENSE BY ADDING (D,ED,IED), DEPENDING UPON HOW
THE VERB IS SPELLED. IRREGULAR VERBS CHANGE THEIR FORM COMPLETELY FROM PRESENT TO PAST
TENSE. THERE IS NO RULE TO LEARNING IRREGULAR VERBS. WE CAN ONLY LEARN THEM WITH
PRACTICE.
Los verbos regulares generalmente forman su tiempo pasado agregando (d, ed,
ied), dependiendo de cómo se deletrea el verbo. Los verbos irregulares cambian
su forma completamente del presente al pasado. No hay una regla para aprender
verbos irregulares. Solo podemos aprenderlos con práctica.
20
EXAMPLES
Examples of Regular Verbs-
