Question: Objective of the research.

Ans: Research can be thought of as an organized process that involves defining the problem, formulating a
hypothesis, collecting data, analyzing the data, and reaching specific conclusions, either in the form of solutions
to related problems or specific generalizations for some theoretical construct. Research objectives are actually
a specification of the ultimate reason behind doing the research in the first place.

Although each research project possesses its own particular goal, we may think of objectives as falling
into a number of following wide-ranging groups:

Academic Objective: To gain knowledge about a phenomenon or gain new insights about it. The
academic objective is to acquire knowledge and it is the desire for knowledge combined with curiosity that
underpins a variety of research activities independent of material incentives.

Useful Objective: The main objective is generally to understand the culture of the company, social life,
social environment, problem solving process etc. and thereby gain a higher measure of control over human
behavior in the organization and social context.

Research can be useful in pinpointing the characteristics of a particular individual, situation or group of
organizations and thereby designing organizational restructuring and improvement strategies.

Research enables you to determine whether a particular thing occurs or to whom it is related to
something else. It greatly contributes to testing a hypothesis or a casual relationship between variables to
discover the effects of cause and effect. One of the main objectives of research is to find solutions to questions
by applying the scientific method. The objective is to discover the truth that is hidden and yet undiscovered.
