Thank you Honorable Chair and esteemed delegates,

The country of Thailand thinks combating violence against

women is a very important issue for the entire world. Even
though women now get better education and higher political
roles, discrimination is still occurring in lots of countries, and
Thailand is not an exception. This committee should
understand that due to these problems, from the beginning
everyone receives an education of gender inequality, so many
problems such as human-trafficking, domestic violence or child
marriage appear.
The government of Thailand has been trying to deal with this
issue by the “National Prevention and Suppression of Domestic
and International Trafficking” and by establishing Emergency
Homes to prevent human-trafficking. Also, every November
with some other countries, Thailand celebrates the Campaign
Month for Ending Violence Against Women.
Thailand encourages the committee to set security in the
borders of all countries of the Mekong region to prevent sex-
trafficking and criminal networks, and to promote programs for
families and speeches and activities in schools. In conclusion,
the country of Thailand believes that protection in borders and
gender equality speeches will help to end with this form of
discrimination.
Thank you for your time
