Contain photosynthetic pigments called chlorophyll present in the plastids.

Their cells have cellulose walls.

Majority have transport system.

They show alternation of generation

Reproduction is both asexual and sexual.

They are eukaryotic and multicellular.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS

- the process by which

a plant takes in carbon
dioxide and water and
in the presence of
sunlight makes sugar
and oxygen
DIFFERENT PHYLUM
PHYLUM MARCHANTIOPHYTA
- Members of phylum marchantiophyta are
commonly known as liverworts. They commonly
found in moist habitats.

PHYLUM BROPHYTA
- It consist of a group of plants known as
mosses. They are commonly found in
moist/shaded areas which provides favorable
conditions for survival.
DIFFERENT PHYLUM
PHYLUM pteriodophyta
- It consist of about 12,000 species known as
ferns. They can be found in moist tropical and
temperate forest.

PHYLUM coniferophyta (gymnosperm)

- It is the first vascular plants to produce
seeds. The majority of species are woody
plants commonly found in the northern
hemisphere.

FERNS SHRUBS CONIFERS

ECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE
They maintain ecological equilibrium by
supplying living organisms with oxygen
and absorbing carbon dioxide
generated by them.

Plants are also an important component

of environmental feeding chains and a
primary source of shelter for many
species.
ECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE
They provide construction
materials, clothing, cordage,
medicines, and beverages, as
well as serving as the
foundation of the terrestrial
food chain. Plant-based
organisms are critical to the
survival of our terrestrial
ecosystem.
