INTRODUCTION

Rationale of the Study

Nowadays, a big part of people’s lives are taken up by mobile games.

Whether it’s waiting in line, on the bus, or simply taking a break from work, people
are playing games on their phones. And while this may seem like a recent trend,
mobile gaming actually has a long and complex history. This paper will explore the
history of mobile gaming, from its early beginnings to the present day.

The first mobile games were played on PDAs, or personal digital

assistants. These devices were first released in the early 1990s, and they were
essentially small computers that could be used for personal tasks, such as writing
memos or organizing schedules. One of the earliest mobile games was a game
called “Lemonade Stand,” which was released in 1993 for the Apple Newton. This
game allowed players to run their own lemonade stand, and it was one of the first
games to use a touchscreen interface.

In the early 2000s, mobile gaming began to take off. This was in part due
to the release of the iPhone, which was the first smartphone to include a dedicated
gaming platform. The first iPhone game was a game called “Super Monkey Ball,”
and it quickly became a popular hit. In the years since then, mobile gaming has
continued to grow in popularity.

There are several reasons for this growth. For one thing, mobile games
are convenient; they can be played anywhere, anytime. Additionally, mobile games
are often cheaper than traditional console games, and they can be downloaded
quickly and easily. Additionally, mobile games are often more social than traditional
console games; they can be played with friends or strangers online.

Overall, mobile gaming is a rapidly growing industry that shows no signs of

slowing down. While there are some people who argue that mobile games are a
waste of time, there is no doubt that they are here to stay. So what does the future
hold for mobile gaming? Only time will tell.
