To Whom It May Concern,

I [have recently ordered / am currently driving a Tesla Model S / Model X], an electric vehicle an all-
electric vehicle (EV) that is available in North America, Europe, Mainland China, Australia and Hong
Kong. Some key benefits of having a Tesla are zero emissions and the ability to charge the car at home -
no more gas station visits!

There is an increasing number of EVs in Hong Kong. Thousands of Tesla Wall Connectors have already
been safely installed in Hong Kong’s residential buildings to support the growing trend.

I would like to install an individual charger in my parking space to charge my vehicle. This can be
performed by a registered electrical contractor and is not complicated. Technical details of the work will
be provided and discussed after their site survey.

Safety

The Tesla Wall Connector is well tested, safe to install and easy to use. It carries the following
international safety standards:

Underwriters Laboratories Certification (UL)

- UL is an insurer and self-described as “a not-for-profit organization dedicated to public safety”.

UL’s certification process is very thorough and widely accepted.

Conformité Européene Certification (CE)

- recognized in the 30 states European Economic Area, CE is the mandatory European Conformity
marking that indicates a manufacturer's declaration that the product complies with the essential
requirements of the relevant European health, safety, and environmental protection legislation.

Utility Information

Both Hong Kong Electric & China Light and Power support the installation of chargers and, on application,
allow the installation of separate metered accounts.

Alternatives for Charging Installations

In some cases, there may not be sufficient power to support each interested resident having an individual
charger. Buildings in Hong Kong have been approaching this challenge in a couple of ways:

- Survey tenants for their interest in EVs – with more and more people interested in EVs our
building can then explore the costs associated with upgrading the electrical systems and how
these costs would be evenly distributed to interested parties.

- Chargers are installed in common or guest parking spaces – if the building has limited available
power, this type of installation is the most cost-effective solution, which can support the first group
of EV owners. It can be managed by the building management similarly to other shared facilities
in the building. Once a building has a group of EV owners, the building’s supply can be upgraded
to support individual chargers.
