Lycor ciur TECHNICAL QUERY ROR Navachab Gold Mine PCP - CIP Expansion rane: °% ‘QKR Namibia — Dewald Louwrens pate, 25/03/2021 7 2173 oe (01/04/2021 Process Flowsheet Changes (030-FF-001 and 030-FF-002 TECHNICAL QUERY Revision C of the flowsheets were issued to QKR after discussion on use of PCP effluent as dilution stream in | screening building. Also refer to email from A. Ryan sent 24/02/2021. QKR revision C flowsheet mark-ups and subsequent teleconference on 23/03/2021 has resulted in the QKRs instruction to make the following flowsheet changes: 1). The PCP effluent will now primarily be pumped to the HPGR coarse screen underpan prior to the HPGR repulping box and will no longer be pumped to the scavenger cyclone feed hopper. The PCP plant has ‘an availabilty of 65% (QKR advice) Lycopodium does not recommend this as the PCP effluent stream flow rate fluctuates (different availability) and will result ina fluctuating solids density to the fines screens. It will also impact the water recovery/balance for re-use in wet screens. Even though this can be supplemented with water from the PCP effluent pumps the change in density will affect the efficiency of fine screening and thus ‘the recirculating load to the ARGO mill. This change will: + Increase control complexity | + Potentially increase carryover of fines to the recirculating load + Potentially increase moisture in the feed to the ARGO ‘The existing design uses a constant recirculating supply of water from the PCP thickener to allow density to be controlled by measuring solids flowrate and adjusting the water addition accordingly. 2) In the event the Tower Millis offline, PCP effluent will bypass the tower the Tower Mill product sump. Lycopodium does not recommend this as the PCP effluent has a different PSD (Fras 0.5mm) to the | ‘Tower Mill Product (-100 micron). The overland pipeline will then have to be designed to cater for the different size that will increase line velocity and pump power. Even though this can be supplemented with water from the PCP effluent pumps the change in density will affect the load on the pumps and ‘may result in fluctuations in flowrate. The envelope will now vary from 240 m3/h at 48% solids in normal operation to 116 m3/h effluent plus at least 80 m3/h water to give about 200 m3/h at 12% solids. Adding 25 dtph of fines from the PCP effluent will also change the viscosity profile of the pumped slurry. ‘QKR has previously advised that an existing bypass direct to the leach plant exists and could still be used which would minimise disruption to the comminution plant. ll and will be pumped into These changes will impact cost and schedule and may impact on any future vendor and/or plant warranty around the comminution circuit. Please confirm the requirement to make the flowsheet changes as indicated in points 1 and 2.
