Good Morning, I Am Your News Reporter, Jade Elizabeth S. Tinio and You are watching The Daily
Government.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) stated on Wednesday that
traditional jeepneys featuring the recognizable Filipino design may continue to be utilized so long as
they adhere to the regulations established by the government.

In opposition to the government's public utility modernization program, transportation organizations

staged a nationwide strike for two days that started on March 6 and ended on March 8.

The replacement of traditional jeepney vehicles with modernized minibus-like vehicles was one of the
issues they brought up. They also mentioned about how expensive the new jeepney is. They stated
that it costs more than two million per unit.

Bolano stated that the outdated vehicles would be upgraded as part of the modernization program to
guarantee passengers' safety, comfort, and security.

That is all, See you next time on The Daily Government.
