How to check the fit

1. Cup and Band adjustment


Check if the breast is sitting correctly in the cup. If not, ask the model to lean forward and readjust.

The H&E should be fastened according to models underbust measurement (see next page).

1.1 Band adjustment


Below chart can be used to know which hook the sample should be fastened on during fitting according to the models
underbust measurement.

1.2 Fitting samples with 4R H&E


If the sample has 4R H&E the fitting should be done on the first 3 rows of hooks according to the above chart. The 4th row
of hooks is added as additional comfort for the customer so the bra can fit looser if desired.

Exception:
If a Soft Bra (style without wire) has 4R H&E then the fitting should be done on the last 3 rows of hooks according to the
chart above. For this type the 4th row of hooks is added so the customer can make the bra tighter. This is important when
we have single sizes to ensure we can reach as wider range of customers as possible.

2. Shoulder Strap tension


Pull the shoulder strap to check the tension. Adjust the length accordingly using the slider if necessary.

3. Wing tension
Pull both the top and bottom wing away from the body to ensure that the tension between top and bottom wing elastic
feels balanced and equal.

4. Gore tension
This step is applicable for styles with gore only, for styles with cradle please continue to next step.

Check the tension underneath the bottom of gore with forefinger. It should sit flat against to body and not stand away.

5. Back hiking
Put a measurement tape around model's underbust, the bottom wing should be parallel to the measurement tape and not
hiking (see picture on the right side).

 

6. Cup shape
Check both the top and side view of the cup for the following:

• Bust point position


• Cup roundness / pointy
• Breast spilling over

All measurements are given in cm and are approximate, they can change depending on the style.

8. Cup emptiness
There should not be any flat or empty area at the bottom of the cup.

9. Gaping
There should not be any gaping at the apex.

10. Moulded cup fabric


This step is applicable for styles with moulded shell fabric only.

When the bra is worn it should be possible to pinch 1-2mm of the outer cup fabric at the highest point. If this is not possible
then the fabric is too tight and needs to be cut to release the volume. Please note, this can differ between fabric types.

11. Front length


Check if the front length is fitting flat against the breast. It should not be pressing (too tight) or gaping (too loose).

12. Cup side


Check if the cup side is fitting flat against the breast. It should not be pressing (too tight) or gaping (too loose).

13. Wire
Ask the model if she is experiencing any discomfort from the wire.

Check to see if the wire is digging in at the gore and at the side.

14. Wire angle


Check that the wire position is following the measurements given on the MList.
If the wire is sitting correctly it should follow the breast root in a way that is suited to the style.

15. Shoulder strap angle


Check that the strap is attached at a right-angle to the cup apex. The strap position should be perpendicular to the bottom
of the bra when worn.

16. Wire play


During fitting, ensure that the wire is pushed all the way to the bar tack at the centre front.

Checking the wire play measurement should be done on table, not on body.

17. Boning play


During fitting, ensure that the bone is sitting in the middle of the seam.

Checking the boning play measurement should be done on table, not on body.

• For all styles exc. bandeau the standard boning play is 0.5CM.
• For bandeau styles only, the boning length should be totally 2CM shorter than the seam length.

18. Waist and leg opening tension for panties


Pull both the waist and leg opening away from body to ensure that the tension between the waist and leg opening feels
balanced and equal.

19. Function
Below points are examples of questions related function that can be considered during the fitting:

• Is the garment easy to put on?

• Can the model move around comfortably and securely?

• Does the style function as expected / needed?


• Does the push-up have a visible push effect?
• Does the balconette provide an upward lift?
• Does the strapless bra stay up when the straps are removed?
• Is the breast a nice shape when the models wear's a T-Shirt over the top?

20. Comfort
Below points are examples of questions related comfort that can be considered during the fitting:

• Ask if the model feels any discomfort anywhere.


• Is the wire pressing uncomfortably into the breast / body?
• Are any of the elastic's hurting? This is important when silicone elastic is used.
• Are there any seams that are scratchy or uncomfortable against the skin?

Photos should be taken at the correct angle, horizontal at bust point.
