 Computer network is mainly of four types:

❖Local Area Networks (LANs)

1. Short distances.
2. Designed to provide local interconnectivity.
❖Personal Area Networks (PANs)
1. short-range wireless networks that work over a range of tens of metres.
2. Typical PAN technologies include: Cordless products such as mouse devices and keyboards.
❖Wide Area Networks (WANs)
1. Long distances.
2. Provide connectivity over large areas.
❖Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs)
1. Provide connectivity over areas such as a city, a campus.
