Objectives:

Objective of the experiment was to measure the angular frequency of a DC motor. The following
technique was used:

1. Magnetic pickup

2. Hall Effect sensor

3. Inductive Sensor

4. Photo reflector sensor Method

5. Photo interruptive Method

6. Stroboscopic Method
Observations:

 As the applied voltage is raised, the motor's rotations per minute (RPM) rises in a linear
fashion, as shown in the preceding graph.
 We can observe a small amount of variation between the linear graphs of the five
approaches used to determine the motor's RPM due to errors in the apparatus.
 The photo reflective method, the photo interruptive method, and the strobescope method
are all based on optics, while the magnetic pick-up, the Hall effect sensor, and the inductive
sensor are all based on magnetism.
 We see that, due to the different principles employed, the plots obtained for the
magnetism-based sensors differ slightly from those obtained for the optics-based sensors.
 We were unable to conduct the Stroboscope sensor experiment due to time constraints and
the need for a different calibration of the equipment.

Inference:

 The results of this experiment suggest that there is a linear relationship between the applied
voltage and the motor's rotational speed, regardless of the technique employed. Due to
error in the apparatus and different sensors used, RPM values at the same values of voltage
in different approaches can vary by a small amount.
