IMPROMPTU SPEAKING COMPETITION

PLATFORM: AVR

Guidelines:
■ Each department must send only one (1) contestant, either male or female, who is a
bonafide student of UC- Pardo and Talisay. They must accomplish the official entry form on or
before November 26,2021 and this is to be sent to studentaffairs22@gmail.com .
■ Different questions will be formulated by the judges. Each question is numbered.
■ The contestant chooses a number that will be the basis for his/her question.
■ Each contestant is given one (1) minute to organize his/her thoughts and three (3)
minutes to deliver his/her speech. One point deduction will be made from the contestant’s
composite score (average from the three judges) for every minute or exceeded. 
■ A bell will be rung thrice to signify that time is up. The language to be used during the
delivery must be in English.
■ The criteria for judging are as follows:
CONTENT  40%
 The main idea of the content - 15%
 Include personal viewpoint -10%
 Use specifics to support or explain main point - 5%
 Accuracy and Consistency -10%

ORGANIZATION  20%
 Vocabulary Structure -10%

■ In case of a tie, the contestants shall be given another topic to deliver and shall be rated
a new.

DRIBBLING SKILLS AND TRICKS CHALLENGE

PLATFORM: (Pre Recorded and Edited)

Guidelines:
■ Each department must send only one (1) contestant, either male or female, who is a
bonafide student of UC-Pardo and Talisay. They must accomplish the official entry form on or
before November 26, 2021 @ 12:00 NN and this is to be sent to
studentaffairsoffice22@gmail.com. They will also be directed to submit their pre-recorded
videos through the given email on November 29, 2021 @ 12:00 NN.
■ The pre-recorded video must not exceed 3 minutes and not less than two (2)
minutes. And must be “One-take” only (No cuts, etc.).
■ Editing of video (Slo-mos, Fast forwards) is strictly prohibited.
■ There will be one (1) point deduction from the contestant’s composite score (average
from the three judges) for every minute missed and/or exceeded.
■ The scores from the online voting (50%) and the judges (50%) will be combined to
determine the winners.

Starting at 4:30 PM on December 3, 2021, the official entries will be uploaded, and
the online voting will begin. The voting will end at 10:00 AM on December 4, 2021.

pieces should centralize with the subject, “Striving Excellence and Wellness Amidst Health Crisis
through Athletic Skills towards strengthening Hope and Unity through Technology.” They will be
directed to submit their piece through the email provided on Dec. 1 ,2021 @ 12:00 NN.
■ The contest piece shall be original and it shall be memorized. The language to be
used shall be English.
■ The contestant has two (2) chances to deliver his/her speech in case he/she will
encounter any interference during his/her performance.
■ The delivery time shall not be less than three (3) minutes nor more than seven (7)
minutes. One point deduction will be made from the contestant’s composite score (average
from the three judges) for every minute missed and/or exceeded.
■ A bell will be rung thrice to signify that time is up.

DECLAMATORY SPEECH COMPETITION

PLATFORM: AVR

Guidelines:
■ Each department must send only one (1) contestant, either male or female, who is a
bonafide student of UC – Pardo and Talisay. They must accomplish the official entry form on or

OVERALL INTERPRETATION AND MASTERY 40%

The student declaimer demonstrates mastery of the piece through expressive


interpretation, memorization and provides the audience with a direct experience
of the masterfully crafted literature.

INTERNALIZATION / ACTING SKILLS 30%

The student declaimer expresses quality and natural emotions through facial
expressions, gestures, and body movements. This also refers to; the ability to
feel and project conflicting emotions, consistency, and projecting the character’s
personality to the audience.

VOCAL ASPECTS 20%

The student declaimer employs vocal effects such as varying tone, pitch,
volume, diction and enunciation to reinforce powerful interpretation of the piece.
BACKGROUND, COSTUME AND PROPS 10%

The student declaimer wears a costume and uses props required in the
development of the presented discourse. Furthermore, the student shows
creativity in his/her background on set that relates to the theme, “Summer
2021”.

INTERCAMPUS ONLINE DEBATE COMPETITION

PLATFORM: Google Meet

Guidelines:
■ Each department must send only one (1) team of four (4) members who are bonafide
students of UC – Pardo and Talisay. They must accomplish the official entry form on or before
November 26, 2021 and this is to be sent to studenaffairsoffice22@gmail.com .
■ The competition uses the Oxford-Oregon format and the composition of the teams are
as follows:
AFFIRMATIVE NEGATIVE

Rebuttalist Rebuttalist
■ Each speaker is given three (3) minutes to present his/her constructive speech while
the Rebuttalist is given four (4) minutes.
■ There will be two (2) minutes for every interpolation. 
■ Every speaker has two (2) chances to deliver his/her speech in case he/she will
encounter any connectivity/signal interference. However, if a contestant will be disconnected
from Zoom for more than five (5) minutes, he/she will lose his/her chance to deliver his/her
speech.
■ There will be one point deduction from the debating team’s composite score (average
from the three adjudicators) for every minute exceeded.
■ A bell will be rung thrice to signify that time is up.
■ Single elimination format will be applied.
■ The debate is assessed by an Adjudicator Panel composed of three adjudicators 
according to the following criteria:
1. Matter (40) - substance of the debate, the arguments and evidence presented, and the
logical reasoning and presentation of said arguments. 
2. Manner (40) - the style of delivery, the persuasion skills and the conduct of the debaters.
3. Method (20) - the response to the dynamics of the debate and the observance of the
rules of debate.

ONLINE SPOKEN WORD POETRY COMPETITION

PLATFORM: AVR

Guidelines:
■ Each department must send only one (1) contestant, either male or female, who is a
bonafide student of UC – Pardo and Talisay. They must accomplish the official entry form on or
before November 26, 2021 and this is to be sent to studentaffairsoffice22@gmail.com .
Their pieces should centralize with the subject, “Striving Excellence and Wellness Amidst Health
Crisis through Athletic Skills towards strengthening Hope and Unity through Technology.” They will
also be directed to submit their composed piece through the email provided.
■ The contest piece shall be original and it shall be memorized. 
■ The language to be used is Tagalog.
■ The participants must wear their assigned team color, they must wear decent attire.
■ The contestant is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED to use any voice quality enhancer and
other related electronic gadgets.
■ The delivery time shall not be less than three (3) minutes nor more than seven (7)
minutes. One point deduction will be made from the contestant’s composite score (average
from the three judges) for every minute missed and/or exceeded.

“TIKTOK DANCE COMPETITION”

MECHANICS:

⮚ Each department must send a representative, who might be a


solo artist, a duo, or a group. (Maximum of 3 members). 
⮚ Health protocols must be followed (MUST WEAR FACE MASK
AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING).
⮚ The contest piece must be at least two (2) minutes but no longer
than three (3) minutes. 

SUBMISSION:

we will review them on a regular  basis to ensure that they meet the
deadlines. 

CRITERIA:

“UNIVERSITY IDOL (VOCAL SOLO)”

GUIDELINES & MECHANICS 

1. This contest is open to all UC – Pardo and Talisay students


either beginner or professional singers who haven't produced an album
nor performed at any national and international singing contest. (Solo
category only). 

2. All Participants will sing their song choice in any language.


Participant must finish the piece of their song choice.

Songs containing profanity are NOT permitted and may result in immediate
disqualification. 

3. The piece must be in the original minus-1 only, "VOCAL


REMOVED minus-1” is not allowed. 

STRICTLY NO AUTO-TUNE, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT TO


DISQUALIFICATION.  

IN THE SPIRIT OF FAIRNESS IN COMPETITION, WE WILL ONLY BE


ACCEPTING ENTRIES THAT USES NORMAL MICROPHONE, KARAOKE,
HEADSET MICROPHONE, ETC. HENCE, WE DONT ALLOW THE USE OF
BM800, SOUNDCARDS, CONDENSER MICROPHONE, AND THE LIKE.

THESE EQUIPMENTS MAY ALTER THE TONE AND QUALITY OF YOUR


VOICE, GIVING YOU THE LEVERAGE COMPARED TO THOSE WHO CAN’T
AFFORD TO USE THE SAID EQUIPMENTS.  

4. Strictly only 1 entries per department will be accepted. Attire


must be decent and appropriate for the competition. Back- up dancers
and props for the contest are not considered. 

5. The contest will be conducted online, including the submission


of entries selection, and announcement of winners.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Vocal Technique – Tone Quality, Breath Support, Intonation, Diction and Articulation 
Rhythm & Tempo – Voice in relation to music and Dynamics

2. SHOWMANSHIP (20%) 

Show Design – Music Selection, Effective use of Stage and


Performance Area, Mastery of Lyrics, Outfit and style
Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the
Overall performance 

        3. EXPRESSION (15%) 

Performance – How well the performer can express the meaning and
mood of the song. 

4. OVERALL IMPACT (15%) 

The scores from the online voting and the judges will be combined to determine the
winners.

“CONTEMPORARY DANCE CONTEST”


(A blend of modern and lyrical styles with an edge) 

GUIDELINES: 

1. All should be pre-recorded videos. 


2. The contest piece must be at least three (3) minutes but no longer than
five (5) minutes long. 
3. Participants can perform solo, in pairs, or in groups. A group must have
at least three (3) members but not more than five (5):

> All members are bonafide students of UC

4. Props will be permitted if they do not endanger the performance or


participants.  Avoid inappropriate choreography, choice of music, and
costumes. 

5. Participants can do or create their own videography with styles


STEADY or FREE angle, and it should be LANDSCAPE VIDEO.

    6. Health protocols must be followed (MUST WEAR FACE MASK AND


MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING). As much as possible, please avoid going to
other places to meet your partner if possible.

GUIDELINES: 

1. Participants can choose their own DISCIPLINE (Modern Standard or Latin American). 
2. Modern Standard Discipline with the following dances: Waltz, Tango,
and Quickstep. (Choose only one) 
3. Latin American Discipline with following dances: Samba, Cha-cha,
Rumba, and Jive. (Choose only one) 
4. Participants must dress appropriately according to the Dance sport Attire
for Men and Women. 
5. Choose your preferred music and keep in mind that the contest piece
must be at least two (2) minutes long but no longer than three (3) minutes long
containing all the possible rotations. 
6. Participants can do or create their own videography with styles
STEADY or FREE angle, and it should be LANDSCAPE VIDEO.

∙ PARTICIPANTS: EACH HOUSE HAS ONE (1) PAIR.  


∙ Two members are bonafide students

“VIRTUAL COSPLAY COMPETITION”

PARTICIPANT: 
⮚ Competition is open to all students of UC – Pardo and Talisay.
⮚ Each house must have at least 1 REPRESENTATIVES. 
      ⮚ Characters from GAMES, MOVIES, SERIES, COMICS, OR ANY
PUBLISHED VISUAL WORK may be chosen for the Cosplay. 
GUIDELINES: 
1. PROPS THAT ARE REAL GUNS OR MADE TO SHOOT
DANGEROUS PROJECTILE IN MAKING THE VIDEO ARE STRICTLY
PROHIBITED. 
2. THE USE OF EXPLOSIVES, INCENDIARIES AND/OR
PYROTECHNICS IN MAKING THE VIDEO IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED 
3. CHARACTERS THAT ARE TOO DARING OR PROVOCATIVE IS STRICTLY NOT
ALLOWED. 

Each participant must send the following: 


      ⮚ Half and Full body picture wearing the portrayed character. 
      ⮚ 1-2 Minutes of Pre-Recorded Video Performance Portraying
their chosen Character (Inside the video must have their Full name, Name of
their Chosen Character and Name of their respective houses.) 

IMPORTANT RULE: CONTESTANT MUST NOT CHANGE

BALAK

Specific Guidelines (recorded)

1. The contestant shall submit a copy of their original Cebuano poem (balak)
together with a video of them delivering the poem to
studentaffairsoffice22@gmail.com on or before 12 noon of December 1, 2021.
2. The content of the balak should be related to the theme, “ Striving Excellence and
Wellness Amidst Health Crisis through Athletic Skills towards strengthening Hope and Unity
through Technology.”
3. The video / delivery of the balak using only one device in one shooting. Cuts are not
allowed. 
4. The poem should be memorized. Reading is highly prohibited. 
5. No stage properties (lectem and the like) shall be used during the delivery of the
poem. 
6. Code switching, using foul, obscene and slang are NOT allowed. 
7. The use of sound effects and props are strictly prohibited. 
8. The contestant must wear any attire appropriate for the presentation and the event. 
9. Point/s shall be deducted should the entry fail to follow the rules.

VLOGGING CONTEST
Specific Guidelines:

1. The contest is open to all bonafide students UC – Pardo and Talisay. 


2. The entries may use Bisaya, Tagalog, English or the mixture of the three as a
medium of communication. Participants must follow the theme, “ Striving Excellence
and Wellness Amidst Health Crisis through Athletic Skills towards strengthening Hope and
Unity through Technology.”
3. Landscape orientation is a must with at least 720p resolution. Vlog entries have
a running time of 15 minutes as the maximum and 10 minutes as the minimum. 
4. Entries must be uploaded in the official SSC FB Page
5. Vlog entries containing foul, malicious and offensive contents will be immediately
disqualified. 
6. Use of copyrighted materials is prohibited, unless the owner grant’s permission. 
7. Submission of entries will be on or before December 1, 2021 at 12:00 NN.
Participants shall submit only one entry with the names (individual/group), house,
and title to studentaffairsoffice22@gmail.com .  Please use the email subject:
Vlogging_House. 
8. All entries shall be screened before it will be accessed for public viewing and voting.

will have a running time of 5 minutes as the maximum and 2 minutes as the
minimum.

Guidelines and Mechanics
 Schedule: December 2, 2021
 Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

1. The team shall be composed of 5 member and should be bonifade students of UCPT
2. For Senior High and College Division, question shall be of Multiple choice type for the
Easy Round (20 items), Average Round (15 items) and no choices for the difficult round
(10 items).
3. Contestants are given time allotment to answer for each round: Easy Round – 10 seconds,
Average – 15 seconds and Difficult – 20 seconds.
4. In between rounds there will be a 2 – minute lull.
5. At the end of each round, the culminative score of each team/ contestant will be
computed.
6. At the end of the contest, the group with the highest score will be cleared as the
Champion. The next two highest scoring teams will be declared first and second ruuners
up, respectively.
7. Questions are read by the Quizmaster.

READING MECHANICS:
1. Questions shall be read twice by the quiz master. After the second of reading, the quiz
master shall say ‘GO’ and only then the team be allowed to write the answer.
Automatically the respective time limit for each round will begin with the word ‘GO’ by
the quizmaster. If a question requires enumeration or needs computation, the time will be
extended to five (5) second.
2. After the time and the buzzer sounds, the team should stop writing and raise their writing
board. The answer of the team violating this rule will be considered void .

ANSWER MECHANICS:
1. Each team contest will be provided with official writing boards.
2. Only complete answers will merit credit. Incomplete answers shall be considered wrong
answers for the problem – solving type questions.
3. The audience must observe silence while the contest is ongoing. COACHING IS
STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED FROM THE AUDIENCE.
4. One point shall be deducted from the total score of the team contest for every violation of
any of the contest rules. Any violation will be signaled by a VIOLATION CALL which
will be done, identified and confirmed by the officer of the Academic Contest
Committee.
SCORING MECHANICS
1. The quiz contest will follow a point system of scoring.
2. Points shall be awarded as follow:

PROTEST MECHANICS:
1. A protest may be raised by any contestant of coach. All protest shall be forwarded to the
judges for decision.
2. Protest regarding a particular question will be entertained only before the next question is
read. One the next question is read, no protest regarding the previous question will be
entertained.
3. During the protest, the contestant has the privilege of consulting any reference, provided
they are relevant to the subject of the protest.
4. The board of judges shall be given a maximum of two (2) minutes to resolve the protest
after which the contest shall go on. Should the judges fail to resolve the protest within the
allotted time, the said questions shall be held in abeyance until the same has been
resolved.
5. The board of judges will act on any concern regarding the questions and answers only.
6. The decision of the board of judges shall be final and non-appealable.

TIE BREAKING MECHANICS:


1. In case of a tie at the end of the last phase of this contest a tie breaker will immediately
ensue and will be sudden death in nature.
2. Questions of any difficult and type will be asked until one contestant gains an advantage
in score over the other.
3. The first contestant to gain an advantage in score will be declared the victory of the tie
and will merit the corresponding award.

winners will come from a one team

• Each department must have one team to represent their team, and each team must consist
six [6] members
• There will registration form to be disseminated to houses heads.
• General Orientation for all Participating Teams
• Team member must be a bonafide UCian, of academic year 2021-2022 are eligible to join the
contest.
• We will follow the Tournament Mechanics (Captains Mode)
• The Teams will play a round robin and it’s a Best Out of 3 Match.
• The Top Scoring team will be the one waiting for the finals.
• The 2nd and 3rd top scorers will do an elimination match to be in the finals.
• The lowest will be eliminated.
• In case of a tie. The team will play a Best out of 1 and the winner will proceed to the
Finals.
• The Finals will be Best out of 5.

GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS

o The candidate must be a bonafide student of UC- Pardo and Talisay and is currently enrolled for the
A.Y. 2021-2022.

o Each department must have 1 pair (male and female) representatives to compete for the said pageant.

o There will registration form to be disseminated to houses heads.

o The pageant will be done physically but shall limit the number of people in one area.

o No audience allowed during the competition.

o It is a pre-recorded pageant in which the competition will be shown to the public via facebook live
during the culmination.

o The candidates will undergo 3 exposures which will be elaborated below.

o The candidates must give their best in every exposure so that they will proceed to the final round of
the competition.

o The assigned committee, candidates and anyone who are involved in the pageant must follow the
proper safety health protocols.

o All candidates are expected to maintain discipline throughout the competition and proper virtual
etiquette is observed.

• PHOTOSHOOT MECHANICS

o Each candidate must prepare a creative face shield (this will be elaborate during the orientation of the
candidates).

o The candidates will be captured half size of the body so they can wear any decent

attire in the upper part.

o The photoshoot of the candidates will be on November 26, 2021 at School AVR.

o All pictures will be posted on the official facebook page of SSC FB Page.

o In online voting, any reactions will be counted. So, whoever wins the highest number of heart
reactions will be awarded as the “PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD”.

o In this round, will be setting an award also for “BEST PICTURE”

• FIRST EXPOSURE: PRODUCTION NUMBER (PRE RECORDED AND EDITED)

o The candidates will meet physically one or two days before the pageant. They will have their practice
on the dance number as well as in different exposures.
o The candidates must wear the following during the production number:

- shirt for the upper ( color is based on the assigned color each department)

-jeans for the lower

-sandal

-make up

o Will be setting an award for “BEST IN PRODUCTION NUMBER”.

o Criteria for judging:

○ This will be the second exposure of the candidates in which they will wear

professional attire.

○ Criteria for judging:

● QUESTION AND ANSWER PORTION (PRE-RECORDED AND EDITED)

• All the candidates will proceed to the battle of the brain for the final round.

• In this round, the candidates will undergo preliminary interviews and then will be

asked a final question from any of the board of judges.

• This will be the basis also if who will be crowned as the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2021.

• The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
