Asterisk Digital Solutions was commissioned by EY’s supply chain (SC) consulting practice ~ 3
years ago with a dream to completely transform SC consulting.
EY’s SC practice has grown from strength to strength over the last decade. However, we
realized, ahead of time, that embracing digital is going to be critical to maintain our market
leading position. We also realized that there was a gap in the market for right digital
solutions as the ones existing were either too complex or too rigid. Thus, vision was set to go
beyond just analytics and build our own digital solutions to help clients to run their supply
chains. In the process add new revenue streams for license, support and managed services.
Agile solution build with 15+ cutting edge AI / ML enabled solutions designed and delivered
in little more than a year
Team ASTERISK follows an agile and innovative product development methodology. In a span
of little more than a year, Team ASTERISK has built ASTERISK SC PLANNING SOLUTIONS, a
platform with ~ 15 integrated digital solutions. All built from scratch. Supply chains of
multiple leading global organizations are today running on our planning platform.
Multi-disciplinary team
Team ASTERISK, bought multiple skills of AI / ML & data science, operations research,
analytics, big data, technology, product development & SC functional expertise all under one
roof in a product based org structure. A first for the global consulting industry. Further a
product lead org structure is also helping in building super specialization among team

edge to PI SCO practice. None of the competitors have this kind of capability. This is giving EY

New revenue streams
The shift from the erstwhile consulting model to this new age “Asset based consulting
model” has opened newer avenues for revenue generation in the form of licence fee, AMC,
support fee, and managed services. Some of them are annuity-based revenue streams.
Further addition of technology is also giving greater stickiness with clients.
New geographies
Armed with ASTERISK SC PLANNIGN SOLUTIONS, Team ASTERISK has already entered global
markets. Team ASTERISK is already delivering projects in 6 countries including US, UK, SE
Asia, middle east countries apart from India.
Business impact
From a humble beginning of a 2 - member team, Team ASTERISK has already grown to ~ 100+
family members. Client list includes some of the marquee names in the industry including
one of the largest global luxury car manufacturer, large O&G player, largest cement
manufacturer, large global chemicals MNC, large global FMCG player, etc.
