• Use be going to to talk about our intentions for the future.
• Use the present tense of be + going to + base form of the verb.

be going to vs. will


• We use will or will not + base form of the verb for a decision, when we don’t have a plan
before.
Oh no, it’s raining! We will just stay home today.

Present continuous for arrangements


• We can use the present continuous to talk about arrangements for the future.

Adverbs
• To form adverbs:
o add -ly to regular adjectives (e.g. quick ➞ quickly).
o Some adjectives have irregular adverb forms.
e.g. fast ➞ fast good ➞ well
late ➞ late hard ➞ hard
• Adverbs usually come immediately after the object of the verb or the verb (if there is no
object).
He plays tennis well. NOT He plays well tennis.
