Jacking up, supporting and towing vehicle 00

Jacking up

The curbweight of the vehicle is between 2050 and 2240 kg (4520 and 4940 lbs.) depending on model
and equipment installed.

With tool kit jack


Use the front or rear jack tubes in the outer
longitudinal frame members.

The jack tubes are protected with covers (arrow).

With portable floor jack Sides


Lift vehicle at the respective rubber pad (2) in the
outer longitudinal frame member below the jack
tubes for the tool kit jack.

Front
Lift vehicle from the front center only at the front
crossmember of the front axle carrier. Always
use the floor jack adaptor plate (special tool no.
940 589 03 62 00). Refer to "Special tools"
section of this introduction manual.

Do not lift vehicle at the rear crossmember of the


front axle carrier since this will deform the front
axle carrier.

Rear
At the rear axle center piece.

Do not lift vehicle at spring link.

With lifting platforms


Lift vehicle at the rubber pads (2) in the outer
longitudinal frame members below the jack tubes
for the tool kit jack.

Supporting

With jack stands


Place jack stands under the rubber pads (2) in
the outer longitudinal frame members below the
jack tubes for the tool kit jack. Use only jack
stands with flat supporting plate.

Towing

Front
The towing eye is located behind the flap on the
right side of the front bumper cover.

When using a tow bar, insert the tow bar hook


from the center of the vehicle (direction of
arrow).

If the tow bar is attached incorrectly, the front


bumper cover may be damaged due to
insufficient clearance at the right side of the flap
opening.

Rear

The towing eye is located on the right side under


the rear bumper cover.
