Billiards began in fourteenth century where there is a misunderstanding between Europe and English people whether who was the first to invent the sports. Later on French found a strong evidence proving the game originated in France. The word “billiard” is derived from two French words, “billiart” and “bille”. The two words mean “stick” and “ball”. Put them together, and you get stick-ball or pool. At first, the game was played outside, but during the winter it got too cold so the game was moved inside onto large tables. The game is played individually or by partner it is played by using the cue stick to stroke the cue ball so that it hits the object balls and potting it in succession. The players is to choose whether to play stripes or solids, where if the players pots one object ball the players is granted another shot. The basic rules are, only the cue sticks are allowed to touch the ball, if the players scratches the cue ball it will be counted as foul, if any balls jumped out of the table it we be called as foul, 8 ball must be the last one to be potted, If a shooter commits a foul three times in a row without making an intervening legal shot, the result is a loss of game. I choose the sport because it is fun to play billiards and here in our place there are a lot of billiard tables you can play with. I also chose billiards because when we are in highs cool I was accidentally chosen to represent our school in competition of billiards. I did not win but it gave me an experience in playing tournaments of billiards even though I am not good at billiards. I choose billiards because it is somehow hard to learn, me and my friends play billiards for fun to relax and bet our allowance. It is special because it does not require that much physical effort, it needs a lot of practice and experience and it is very fun to play, it requires a lot of imagination, and it also gives a lot of pressure when playing the game which makes the game more exciting
