Dear Mr. Smith:

Greetings of peace and good health!

You recently encouraged the citizens of Cagayan de Oro City to write a letter addressed to your good
office so we may forward issues that we’ve noticed in our city. I appreciate your initiative to hear out
your constituents so you can move forward in making the city that we love a better place. One of the
foregoing issues that I’ve noticed is the lack of awareness and reach that mental health matters have in
our city, particularly in the workforce. Though we may have local government units working very hard to
spread awareness about mental health, I think it is high time that all offices – whether private
organizations or government offices, implement mental health practices/programs so that it can be one
of the priorities along with employee’s physical health. I think that the funding of these programs is also
vital so they can reach the appropriate people; if mental health initiatives would have appropriate
funding, it would help the efforts of mental health advocates greatly and give them a way to spread
awareness about mental health with good programs and services. We hope to see the progress of
mental health initiatives in our city for the holistic development of its citizens.
I’d appreciate it if there would be updates on our voiced-out concerns at any time in the future.
