ENGLISH ROLEPLAY SCRIPT

Narrator 1: In The past, people interact with their loved ones by giving them love letters. Moreover, people in the distant
past couldn't use technology like we use today, they had to deliver letters and remain patient for the receiver to get
their letter.

*Romantic music plays in the background*

*Shows Olivia holding a letter with a happy expression*

*Olivia carefully opens the love letter from her secret admirer.*

To my dearest Olivia,

When we first met, I immediately knew you were the one for me. The one I’ll get to spend my
life with the person who'll make me happy until I grow old. Every day I wake up, I think about
you and love you with all my heart. Every minute and Every hour, you are on my mind. This is
something I’ve never felt before, and it’s you that motivates the warmth I’m feeling inside when
I’m with you.

*Olivia closes the letter smiling happily*

*She goes and grabs a paper and pen and replies to the love letter James had sent her*

more. In addition, these days you hardly see handwritten love letters from the person pursuing you. Moreover, some
aren’t serious in courting a lady they’ll say their courting her but at most times they wouldn’t take is seriously!

*Grabs her phone beside her and decides to chat Liam*

ON MESSENGER
Emma: Hiiiii Liam! How are you today?

*A few mins later*

Liam: Hi

Emma: What took you so long? Hehe

Liam: I was busy

Emma: Ohhh okay anyways, how was your day today hm?

Emma: Oh, alright have you eaten?

AT SCHOOL

Emma : (Sigh) I wonder why Liam was so cold last night isn’t he supposed to be courting me?

( Emma sees Liam’s Best friend John so she decides to look for Liam)

Emma: John wait up!

*John stops and looks back at Emma*

John: He was at the garden earlier this morning I’m not sure what he was doing and I’m not sure if he’s still there.

Zizi: OMG REALLY? THAT’S SO ADORABLE!!!

Zizi : But the big question is, has he asked your parents permission for him to court you?
Emma: Well, he hasn’t but—

Zizi: Oli! He should ask permission first if he’s truly serious about courting you! Asking permission is a sign of respect so
he should have asked first!

*Emma’s mom walks into her room*

Emma’s mom: Emma food will be ready in a minute.

Emma: Coming mom!

*Closes the door*

Emma: Zi do you want Liam to get killed by my parents?

Zizi: No but its just normal to ask permission to court!

Emma: I’ll talk to Liam alright? Happy?

Narrator 3: In contrast to the present, the male always puts the lady’s wants and desires first. In the same manner the
male is very chivalrous, sweet, kind, and in general, very well-mannered.

Food Panda driver: Ma’am is your name Emma?

Emma: Yes, it is.

Food Panda driver: Well, this order was sent out by a boy named Liam and its already paid.

Emma: OMG! Thank you Kuya driver!

(Goes inside happily and calls Liam)

Liam : I’m assuming you got the order?

Emma: YES! THANKYOU SO MUCH LIAM!

*Opens the paper bag*

Narrator: Alternatively, In the past the male would serenade the girl with the utmost effort. Serenading a woman is a
romantic gesture. Woo her with a song that is meaningful and well-rehearsed! Even if your voice is a little shaky, she'll
still appreciate your effort and courage.

Olivia: This is such beautiful weather! Am I right Annabeth?

Annabeth: *Sits on the grass*

Olivia: Hazel I’m glad you dragged us out here to the field today it’s such a nice day!
