But as she approached the familiar door, she felt a sense of dread and chills creep up her back.

What was the point of her walking all the way over here? 

She hurriedly knocks on the door as she feels her resolve fraying.

She doesn't even have any agenda aside from wanting to see them, which sounds strange
when you think about it. But this Amy March didn't have time to think about her newly acquired
creepiness because the door opened to reveal Mr. James Laurence.

Even the most difficult parties and conversation couldn’t have prepare Amy Laurence for this
moment. 

So she said, without thinking, “Good day! Grandpa James. My name is Amy March, and I'd like
to meet your grandson Laurie."

Mr. James Laurence has always known that he gives the impression of being a gruff man,
making him appear unapproachable even to his own grandson, so imagine his surprise when he
saw a little girl, even younger than his Laurie, knocking bravely on his door to meet his
grandson.

Marches have always had their own sense of wonder, so it's not surprising, but it's certainly new
and interesting, especially since the little girl at his door appears to be the youngest of them. It
also contributes to the fact that it melts his heart when the girl refers to him as Grandpa James,
and he easily finds it in his heart that he doesn't mind at all. 

"And what, pray tell, is your purpose?  My grandson is currently occupied with his studies." It is
not his intention to scare the young lady, but meeting someone like her is a rarity in itself.
Looking at the young girl in front of him, he predicts that she will grow to be a very elegant and
beautiful woman who would undoubtedly steal hearts left and right.
