Elizabeth wanted to be a billionaire from a young age.She had a strong determination to change the
world after witnessing SARS outbreak.She created a wearable patch that continuously test blood of
wearer and suggest right dose of medicine.She dropped out of Stanford to start her own company at
19. Elizabeth Holmes was attractive, persuasive and charismatic .Holmes was a master manipulator.
Despite of having very less knowledge she managed to receive funds by manipulating investors. She
has enormous power of persuasion that took the company so far that didn’t have the real working
technology. She pushed the engineering team manager to run the team 24/7 and when he refused
she formed a parallel team and pitted them against each other in the survival of the fittest race and
fired the team who lost. She also did ethically questionable things like running a pilot test against
cancer patients.She had a great obsession for Steve Jobs , which gradually turned in she even started
dressing like him and using the same tactics such as attending meetings with same marketing
firm.She employed a few apple employees and one of them was Avie Tevanian later became a board
member also consisting of Dun Lucas who mentor founder of Oracle was the chairman. Dun Lucas
didn’t pay heed to what Avie was trying to convey , the problems employees were facing during
testing.She fired those who raised the alarm and thus employees were too scared to take step
fearing retaliation from sunny Elizabeth or company lawyers which shows group thinking of the
employees.

Sunny – immigrant from Pakistan , had money and the status of successful entrepreneur. He knew
how to control people and fired those who disobeyed. He was persuasive in nature.The financial
forecast that sunny gave to investors were 10 times more than the actual internal forecast because
the company was running without a CFO for the past 7 years.

2010 a whole lot of money was pouring into the silicon valley, meanwhile walgreens and safeway
created deal with theranus to partner and create wellness centres because Walgreens had a fear of
missing out and thus partnered. Walgreens and safeway got persuaded by every word of
Elizabeth.Theranos board of directors had many American politicians and business leaders such as
former US secretary of sate ad former board chair of Bechtel Group ltd.
