Discrimination

Before speaking about discrimination, let us first understand what the term means.
Discrimination represents an unfair or damaging treatment which focuses on people or groups
of people based on their characteristics such as race, gender, sexual orientation and even their
age.

Being one of these people is already stressful enough to affect your mental health and
how you think about the other people which can drastically influence the way you
communicate with other people in the future. Just being part of these discriminated groups,
where their members identify themselves as other genders, other than male or female, can be
stressful enough to make you feel awkward since you are also receiving the same treatment
like any other member from the same group.

Dealing with discrimination is very important in keeping your mental well-being. If

you end up being treated badly because of the way you are, that does not mean you should
isolate yourself from the others. There is always your family that you can trust and ask for
helpful tips so you can deal with these issues from now on. Nowadays, you can find like-
minded groups and organizations pretty much anywhere, even online, which focus on dealing
with discrimination and help people like you avoid these emotions from now on so you can
continue to explore the world worry-free without being affected by others.

If you ever experience discrimination at your job, school or even when you are
outside, do not give up, you can just ignore them and hope they will not get into your life
ever again. When you avoid their actions, they will start to think that you do not care about
what they are saying and will eventually realize that it is a waste of time and will find
something else to do with their free time.

Sometimes, these discriminatory actions can have some serious consequences because
you can not figure out how to get rid of these “emotions”, then it is best advised to go to a
physiatrist who can help you with useful tips about combating these emotions and hopefully
you will feel better next time you encounter this type of behaviour.
