WORK EXPERIENCE:
Warner Music Group corp (WMG) is an American multinational entertainment and third largest leading company in
the global music Industry after Universal Music Group (UMG) And Sony Music entertainment (SME). This company
owns and operates some of the largest and most successful labels in the world, including Elektra records, Warner
records, parlophone and Atlantic records.
Warner Music group does Physical distribution of its label’s music products like CD, Vinyl, DVD. Merchandise etc to
the different set of customers like whole sale, retail, small companies like Costco, Amazon, target, ADA (small
company), spencers etc. Physical distribution involves getting Orders through EDI/Manual, drop orders to
warehouse, shipping the products to customers from warehouse, invoicing the orders, book the revenue to the
finance system.
ADA:
Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) is a music distribution company owned by Warner Music Group, which
represents the rights to various independent record labels. As the independent music distribution arm of Warner
Music Group, ADA Worldwide was created in 1993[3] to offer a distribution system and marketing, merchandising,
promotion, and music licensing services. In 2012, Warner Music Group combined Independent Label Group with
ADA to create a full-service company that provides services including physical and digital global distribution, physical
production, merchandise production and distribution.
ADA label’s/users view the data in portal and they can see catalog, sales, accumulated sales details in the portal. The
sales happened for ADA label’s will be reported back to ADA from Domestic and International system’s monthly and
show the details in portal. The millions of data every month is processed reconciled and the reports are generated
out of the system for the finance team to book revenue. ADA portal shows the catalog, new releases, Initial Order’s,

On hand inventory available, Open orders for each product, weekly sales, monthly sales, Year-to-date sales,
Inception-to-date sales for the label’s to view their products.

Warner music group has physical servers located in Burbank & New York and to reduce the maintenance all the
applications hosted on Burbank servers have been migrated to AWS cloud in phases. I have been involved in
migrating couple of applications like System ESS, ADA, PMDJ & Video project tracker.
Responsibilities:
System ESS:
System ESS is an ERP application manages physical supply chain for the Music CD’s and Merchandise. It handles the
inventory, reservation, pricing, Orders creation, shipments and invoicing. Technicolor warehouse (USA) has tie up
with WMG for manufacturing and distribution of the CD’s across the states and Technicolor warehouse (UK)
manufactures and distributes Music CD’s for WMG across internationally. Technicolor takes care of the fulfillment of
the orders and sending Shipment notices. EDI is involved to send Acknowledgment’s to Customers as soon as
technicolor sends to System ESS. End of the day, invoicing will run for all the customer and they are sent out through
EDI for EDI customers or all the invoices will be sent to the Optifiche system where vendor’s can pull the invoices
manually.
The sales and returns recorded for a day will be sent to the SAP system to book the transactions in the Journal’s.
Also, every month the journals entries will be booked for the inventory activity happened in a month. Reconciliation
of the sales data between System ESS and the revenue posted, System ESS and Journals posted, System ESS and the
invoices posted to SAP finance system will be done.

Actuate:
Actuate is a reporting tool where we can design the report according to the business requirements. labels/headings
are designed in the “rod” files and a database connection to be made specifying the database and TNS entry.
Connect the rod to a database query or component to retrieve the data. Users will have the front- end access to run
the reports based on the criteria and view the reports. Reports can be downloaded in CSV/ PDF format. The defined
criteria of the reports can be scheduled based on the report id through appworx scheduler.

Environment : Actuate designer tool (Designing the reports and accessing database components), Oracle 11g
(Backend database), Unix server.
Constellar hub is an ETL tool used to extract, transform and load the data to tables, different database, files etc.
Constellar Hub is used to send various feeds like catalog to different third parties, pulling out information from
Technicolor warehouse or sending details like Orders to warehouse, ASN’s to different customers and down streams.
This is the main interface to send data to the people outside WMG or inside. Meta data manager is the tool to see
the interfaces definitions, Post/pre business rules in the interface etc. Transformation manager is used to check the
error generated from the interface modules.
Appworx Scheduler is a tool to schedule the jobs. Schedule can be on database components like Procedure, Sql,
Packages or Shell script, Perl Script etc or the Actuate jobs to trigger reports.
Responsibilities:
NIDB is the National inventory database management application which contains the inventory details of all the
finished goods, related BOM components & their inventory and the Catalogue details of the product.
This application is mainly used by the inventory managers to see how much inventory available and based on the
prediction of the sales for future; they will order the inventory from the manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities:
PMDJ is an application used for promoting the commercial products. This application is used for creating orders for
promotions, which has the details of the Customers who would be receiving the free goods and the free goods that
are sent to the customer.
The PMDJ orders are sent to the warehouse, where the warehouse manager ships the goods as per the PMDJ
Orders. The PMDJ Application saves money by combining Orders into 1 package instead of sending 4 different
packages.
Key release database has the future key release information. This has all the prediction data and once the quarter is
completed, they verify the predictable and actual information for future reference.
Responsibilities:
SHOP:
SHOP is a web application where retail customers can create the orders online. These are flown through System ESS
for shipments and invoicing. This applications get’s the catalog, customer details, Invoiced orders details from
System ESS.

This is a web application where captures the details of the Artist like cover arts, Images with more recent details
about the releases.

EDI Gentran:
EDI Gentran is a mapping created for the retail customers to read their format and convert them to System ESS
readable format for Inbound and outbound files transmission.
EDI handles different types of the files like 850, 810, 855 etc.
