EARHTLY PILGRIMS
John 14:1-3
(v2) In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to __prepare a
place__ for you.
Hebrews 11:8-10
(9) By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a
strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and
Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
(10) For he looked for a city which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker is __God__.
Hebrews 11:13-16
(13) These all died in faith, not having received the
promises, but having seen them afar off, and were
persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed
that they were __strangers and pilgrims on the earth__.
INHABITANTS OF NEW JERUSALEM
Hebrews 12:22-24 – the inhabitants of the New
Jerusalem are:
1) God (the Judge of all)
2) Jesus (mediator of the new covenant)
3) angels
4) __general assembly and church of the
firstborn__
5) the spirits of just men made perfect
BIBLE EXPOSITION OF REVELATION 21-22
Revelation 21
(v1) And I saw __a new heaven and a new earth__; for
the first heaven and the first earth were passed away
and there was no more sea.
(v2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a
bride adorned for her husband.
(v3) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold the __tabernacle__ of God is with men, and he
will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and
God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
(v4) And God shall __wipe away all tears from their
eyes__; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: __for the former things are passed away__.
(v5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I
make __all things new__. And he said unto me, Write:
for these words are true and faithful.
(v10) And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and
high mountain, and shewed me that great city, __the
holy Jerusalem__, descending out of heaven from God,
(v11) Having the glory of God: and her light was like
unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone,
clear as crystal;
(v12-14) And had a great and high, and had twelve
gates… and names written thereon, which are the
names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel…And
the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them
the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
(v16) And city lieth foursquare, and the length is as
large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the
reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the
breadth and the height of it are equal.
