ENG OUT DES Driftdown and One Engine Cruise Right engine fails, current altitude cannot be maintained and a minimum descent rate is desired Pilot Flying Pilot Monitoring 1 Disengage the autothrottle 1 Notify ATC and request altimeter setting 2 Solect ENG OUT prompt on CRZ page 2 Refer to QRH - Driftdown and One Engine 3 Select RT ENG OUT prompt. Cruise 4 Set CON NI (MCT) on operating engine. 5 Set MAX ALT in MCP altitude. 6 Set ENG OUT SPD in MCP IASIMACH window, 7 Select LVL CHG - aircraft decelerates and descends at engine out target speed. Evora wr RZ ALT Tver a OUT Gre om ery Driftdown Condition: An engine fails and current altitude cannot be maintained 4 Autothrottle (if engaged) Disengage 2 Thrust lever (operating engin: Set to CON N1 (MCT) 3aTc Notify Request altimeter setting, 4 VNAV Key Press and navigate to VNAV CRZ page, 5 ENG OUT Select 6 LT or RT ENG OUT Select as appropriate ote: The FMC calculates engine out target speed altitude at the current gross weight The fields are updated as fuel is burned. 7 ENG OUT CRZ page Use data Note: Ater viewing engine out data, select the ERASE prompt to return to the active CRZ page With the ENG OUT CRZ page sele ax engine out ted, no other FMC data pages can be executed and ENG OUT pages cannot be executed BMAX ALT Set in MCP ALTITUDE window 9 ENG OUT SPD. Set in MCP IAS/MACH window Airspeed Slow to target WL CHG Engage Driftdown Commence at target airspeed One Engine Driftdown and Cruise Following an Engine Failure All Flights, Except for Over Water Portion of Long Overwater Flights Driftdown + Set MCT (Max Continuous Thrust) + Driftdown at ENG OUT SPD (CDU above) After Reaching bottom of driftdown + If terrain clearace is a concern: - Continue with MCT. - Cruise at the Driftdown speed « If terrain clearance is not a concern: Level-off at desired cruise altitude. - Use the One Engine LRC Altitude Capability to determine appropriate cruise altitude. - Set thrust to maintain level cruise. - Do not exceed MCT. Cruise at One Engine Long Range Cruise (LRC) Speed All Flights, Except for Over Water Portion of Long Overwater Flights Driftdown + Set MCT (Max Continuous Thrust) + Driftdown at .79 / 335 kts After Reaching bottom of driftdown + Ifterrain clearace is a concern: - Continue with MCT. - Cruise at 3365 kts. - Consult your One Engine High Speed Cruise chart + Long Overwater Flights are those flights in which the diversion speed must be increased to remain within 60 min of a suitable airport.
