Right engine fails, current altitude cannot be maintained and a minimum descent rate is desired
Pilot Flying Pilot Monitoring
1 Disengage the autothrottle 1 Notify ATC and request altimeter setting
2 Solect ENG OUT prompt on CRZ page 2 Refer to QRH - Driftdown and One Engine
3 Select RT ENG OUT prompt. Cruise
4 Set CON NI (MCT) on operating engine.
5 Set MAX ALT in MCP altitude.
6 Set ENG OUT SPD in MCP IASIMACH window,
7 Select LVL CHG - aircraft decelerates and
descends at engine out target speed.

6 LT or RT ENG OUT Select as appropriate
ote: The FMC calculates engine out target speed
altitude at the current gross weight
The fields are updated as fuel is burned.
7 ENG OUT CRZ page Use data
Note: Ater viewing engine out data, select the ERASE prompt to return to the
active CRZ page

+ Set MCT (Max Continuous Thrust)
+ Driftdown at ENG OUT SPD (CDU above)
After Reaching bottom of driftdown
+ If terrain clearace is a concern:
- Continue with MCT.
- Cruise at the Driftdown speed
« If terrain clearance is not a concern:
Level-off at desired cruise altitude.
- Use the One Engine LRC Altitude Capability
to determine appropriate cruise altitude.
- Set thrust to maintain level cruise.
- Do not exceed MCT.
Cruise at One Engine Long Range Cruise
(LRC) Speed

+ Driftdown at .79 / 335 kts
After Reaching bottom of driftdown
+ Ifterrain clearace is a concern:
- Continue with MCT.
- Cruise at 3365 kts.
- Consult your One Engine High Speed
