Abstract:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects social interaction and
communication difficulties and is characterized by repetitive behaviours and interests. Without
proper therapy, children with autism face significant challenges daily that have a negative
impact on their quality of life. Due to high cost of therapy and lack of autism centres and child
psychologists, it has become difficult for children with autism to receive treatment regularly.
The solution is to provide educational therapy through technology by providing an online
learning environment. Our project is a web-application that intends to offer support and therapy
with special attention to areas of emotional and speech development. The application allows
parents and caregivers to find out the ASD level of their child thereby adjusting the contents
of the exercises according to each child’s capabilities. To predict the ASD level, data was
collected through survey forms filled by parents/caregivers of autistic children and the
collected data was used to train machine learning algorithm to identify ASD level accurately.
To check how positively the application is contributing to the development and treatment of
their child, parents and caregivers can monitor and track the progress of the child through
regular updates and reports. The development of this project required an in-depth research and
data-collection process to ensure that the child will receive therapy that is scientifically backed
and of high-quality while also maintaining the child’s interest and developing their skills,
improving their social interaction, and helping them gain confidence. In conclusion, the
application focuses on building skills and providing assistive support to an autistic child to
become communicatively and socially competent and reduce their symptoms over time.
