Title: First Order and Second Order System.

1-3 : 1st order systems,

4: 2nd order system,
5: System of 2 simultaneous 2nd order differential equations

1. A series RLC circuit (Electrical system) is described by it's model -

RC(dv/dt) + v = V .

V : supply voltage to circuit, v

: voltage across capacitance,
R : Resistance in the circuit,
C : Capacitance in the circuit.

Represent the above model in simulink and record/save the output plots. Use
constant block for V.

Conclusion-
4 cases of the following Mechanical system interpreted through graphs obtained
through Simulink helps to conclude that-

Case 1gives an
Uniform graph which increases from 0 to its peak value and then decreases slightly and
beco mes almost parallel to X-axis. It represents Under Damped System.

Case 2 represents Over Damped System with an on–uniform Graph

Case3 represents Critically Damped System with an on–uniform Graph which is

constantly in creasing

Case4 represents Undamped System with the graph in the form of sinusoidal wave
with minimum value of zero.

Problem5: mechanical system with 2 masses:

kl(x) — k2(X — x) = ml (d 2x/dt2 )

ml, m2 : masses in the system,

X, x: deflection of m2 and ml

respectively, k 1, k2 : stiffnesses in the
system, F : applied force on the top
mass,

Represent the above model in simulink and record/save the output plots. Use
2 'Scopes' for output ie for X and x. Use constant block for F.
F=200N,m1=10kg,m2=25kg,k1=30,k2=25

Conclusion:
We are getting plots for X and x. plot for x is 0 initially then after 8 sec falls till-
2.171e+09. Plot for X is 0 initially then after 8 sec falls till -3.565+08
