Why is there urgency in missionary work?
"That gathering is the most important thing taking
place on earth today. Nothing else compares in
magnitude, nothing else compares in importance,
nothing else compares in majesty."

 10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

How does this affect the way we work each day?
 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a
good cause, and do many things of their own free will,
and bring to pass much righteousness;

D&C 58:27

Be focused on things that really matter

ie. Finding, Teaching, Serving
 Diligence and Urgency work hand-in-hand

Urgency is steady, consistent, earnest, and energetic effort in doing the Lord’s
work. The Lord expects you to work urgently—persistently and with great effort
and care. An urgent missionary works effectively and efficiently. Urgency in
missionary work is an expression of your love for the Lord and His work. When
you are urgent, you find joy and satisfaction in your work.

Do many good things of your own free will. Don’t wait for your leaders to tell
you what to do. Continue until you have done all you can, even when you are
tired. Focus on the most important things and avoid wasting time. Pray for
guidance and strength. Plan regularly and effectively. Avoid anything that
distracts your thoughts or actions.

 “I have often said one of the greatest secrets of missionary work is
work! If a missionary works, he will get the Spirit; if he gets the Spirit, he
will teach by the Spirit; and if he teaches by the Spirit, he will touch the
hearts of the people and he will be happy. There will be no
homesickness, no worrying about families, for all time and talents and
interests are centered on the work of the ministry. Work, work, work—
there is no satisfactory substitute, especially in missionary work.”

Urgency in the work, and the drive to persevere
opposition

NOT overworking yourself or setting unrealistic

expectations
 And see that all these things are done in wisdom and
order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster
than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he
should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize;
therefore, all things must be done in order.

MOSIAH 4:27
Be diligent in your missionary efforts, but do not
push yourself more than you should.

"Our Heavenly Father asks only that we do the

best we can—that we work according to our full
capacity, however great or small that may be."

 What did you take away from this?
Why is there Urgency in missionary work?
Get your heels dug into the work. Be all in. Work diligently
because you love the people.

Wake up every day knowing someone is waiting for you

just as much as you are seeking to find them.

There is urgency in missionary work. You have what it

takes. Don't let a day go by, your time here is short. Jump
at every opportunity to speak, find, teach, and baptize.
Remember, the Lord has never required expert,
flawless missionary efforts. Instead, "the Lord
requireth the heart and a willing mind."
