Step 1: Look at your partner’s essay to help them adjust for correct MLA formatting.

Follow the
instructions to complete this task. Write any comments on your partner’s essay for items that
need adjustments.

1. Header in upper right corner with last name and page number – in Times New Roman, 12
font.

Name needs to be on the right hand side

2. The upper left information should include:

Author’s first and last name
Professor’s name
Class name
Date written in MLA – 25 October 2018

yes

3. Note any extra spaces – between upper left info, title, or paragraphs.

Extra space between paragraphs and the title

4. Note if the margins are wider than 1 inch.

no

5. Note if paragraphs do not begin with a proper indentation.

Inteeview paragraphs aren’t indented

6. Note if writers did not use Times New Roman, 12 pt, and/or did not double space.

Used all of these

7. Note if the writer’s title is something basic like Career Essay.

It has career essay in the title, but I would shorten it to travel nursing

8. Skim your partner’s essay to look for source material. Use the Works Cited page to help
guide you to their in-text citations/titles used in their writing. Does your partner seem to use
correct MLA format for citations both in-text and in the Works Cited page? Leave a few notes to
help guide them.

The first two look to be cited correctly, but the last few still need to be in MLA format.
Step 2: Read your partner’s essay for content, and answer the questions below to give genuine
feedback to their writing. You can answer these questions on the back OR throughout their
essay.

1. What is the most effective part of the essay for you? Why?

I really like the first two paragraphs, where it tells you about the background of nursing, and how
it has changed so much over the years.

2. Does the writer give a strong enough overview of the profession? If yes, how so? If no, give
examples where your partner can expand or what is still unclear.

I do think what they have is strong, but i feel like it could go more in depth of what are some of
the responsibilities a travel nurse has.

3. In what different ways does the writer discuss writing in the field? Are these significant
effects? Insignificant? Provide some insight if this works well or not.

Explains how documentation is very important in the field, whoch is very significant, and they
provide what are some things the nurse will have to chart. I would also provide examples about
other paperwork a nurse may have to do since im sure theres alot more they must keep track of.

4. Does your partner seem to focus at all on the kinds of research or reading that might be
completed in this profession? Any additional training or studying – anything to advance their
skills – someone in the profession might undergo? Provide some insight if this works well or not
and give some suggestions if they need more material here.

Yes, they have years of training, how it can affect a person working as a nurse, background of
nursing history. I would only add responsibilities travel nurses have with their patients

5. What two professional texts/documents does the writer plan to analyze in their essay? What
kinds of texts are they?

International Journal of Nursing and Midwifery Science and U.S. Bureau of labor statistics are th
sources they have listed. The first one looks like its statistics and the second link doesnt lead
anywhere.

6. Does the writer plan to address how these two texts seem to fit with the profession as a
whole? If yes, discuss why this is strong. If not, offer possible concepts for development.

I do see evidence from the articles, but I would have it so you can tell which article the
information is from.
7. What is the last thing the writer wants their audience to think about? Is it compelling enough?
Why/why not?

To see travel nurses as something more, because they are very under appreciated, and that the
people who do it have a very important role in health care.
