Computer games
Some years ago computer games were quite simple and rare and the scientific
research concluded that the stimulated good results at school and at work. But
what about modern games that have become quite complicated and absolutely
available for everyone?
Many children start playing computer games at the age of
http://cpalinia13.xyz/esports- 4 or 5. For most of them it isn’t a problem but some
of them become addict. More and more small kids and teenagers tend to
spend the majority of their spare time on front of the computer or some other electronic gadget. A recent study
has showed that every third pupil plays computer games at least 30 hours a week! Addiction to games leads to
serious problems such as stealing money to pay for the next level or to buy a new game, failing to do homework
and even missing school classes. Just several years ago schoolchildren used to play sports, go out with friends
or read books in their free time but the new technological era has made their way of life fundamentally
different.
Doctors claim that computer games affect those parts of the brain related to vision and movement. Spending
hours in front of the screen is harmful for children’s eye-sight. Moreover, sitting in the same place for hours can
lead to obesity and postural disorder. Another problem is violent action games where children have to fight
their enemies. This type of games often causes aggressive children’s behavior.
Although quite a lot of games are useless and just a waste of time, at the same time the research has showed
some positive results of playing the computer. There are such games (educational and sport games, simulations,
puzzles) which increase concentration and memory abilities, they enhance rapid reaction, logical activity and
develop strategic way of thinking.
Thus, every medal has its reverse. Playing computer games is a nice way of entertainment but there is no need
to play them all the time. We shouldn’t forget about sports, our family and everyday duties.

Where would we be without the media? How would we get information about
the world? All of us are interested in the news. We all want to know what’s
happening around the world. We switch the TV on just to watch the news. It
seems as though every train passenger has a newspaper. The journalists who
bring us the news do a very important job. Many risk their lives to bring us the
news from the world’s danger zones. Unfortunately, many reporters are killed
while they are covering a war. The media make us feel we are part of the
world. We become experts on other countries and on the big news stories. The
media also bring us many unforgettable images, such as a man walking on the
moon. Really, the media show us history as it happens.
