Management of educational activities in Nepal is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education.

The political
head of the ministry is the minister of education, who is supported by any state or assistant ministers. The
ministry, which is a division of the government, is led by the Secretary of Education and is made up of a
national headquarters and additional offices in the regions and districts. The development, planning, monitoring,
and assessment of policies are essentially the responsibility of the central office.

To bring educational administration to the people, the ministry set up directorates in each of the five
development areas and education offices in each of Nepal's 76 districts. These dispersed agencies are in charge
of managing informal and formal educational activities at the community and school levels. Regional
directorates are principally in charge of organizing, overseeing, and reviewing
