The organizational structure The Central office mandates the overall of DepEd is composed of the administration of basic education at the national level. Central Office, Regional Offices, Schools Division The Regional offices are responsible for the regional and local coordination and Offices (SDOs), and Schools administration of the Department's mandates.
The SDOs are responsible for the management
and supervision public elementary and secondary schools in their respective divisions.
Schools are responsible for providing quality
basic education to learners. Secretary of Education: The Secretary of Education is the highest- ranking official in the Department of Education. This position is responsible for setting the overall policies, direction, and vision for the education system in the country.
Undersecretaries and Assistant Secretaries: These officials assist the
Secretary in various capacities, such as overseeing specific sectors of education, implementing policies, and managing departmental affairs.
Bureaus and Services: The Department of Education is divided into
several bureaus and services responsible for specific areas of education, such as the Bureau of Elementary Education and the Bureau of Secondary Education.
