Revised Pay Scale According to UGC 7th Pay Commission

The pay scale under UGC 7th Pay Commission is as follows:

 Salary of associate professor and assistant professor has been kept in the same pay
band of ₹15600-₹39100 in the new recommendations of the UGC 7th pay
commission. However, there is a change in the grade pay for assistant and associate
professors. Assistant Professors are under the grade pay of ₹6600, whereas
Associate Professors are under the grade pay of ₹8000. 
 The Pay scale for Professors, under the UGC 7th pay commission, will stand at
somewhere around ₹37400-₹67000, and they will also be entitled to get a grade pay
of ₹11000, which will lead to a substantial increase in their take-home salary, after all
the deductions 
 Under the UGC 7th Pay Commission, Vice-Chancellor will be paid a salary under a
fixed pay scale of ₹80000. Since there has been a large increase in the current pay
scale of a Vice-Chancellor, They are not entitled to any grade pay under the new
rules. Also, the Pro Vice-Chancellors will be paid at the same pay scale as the
Professors.
 The Non-teaching staff, such as the librarian and directors of Physical education, will
now be paid, according to the recommendations of the UGC 7th Pay Commission, pay
scale, which will be the same as the teaching staff. The pay scale recommended for
librarians and directors of Physical education stands anywhere between ₹15600 to
₹39100. 

Increment and Promotion Rules According to UGC 7th Pay Commission

 For those who have a PhD degree: For PhD degree holders, there is a special
provision to provide five advance increments, compared to the previously provided
four advance increments to PhD holders.
 For those who have an M. Phil degree: According to the new provisions, three
advance increments are provided to the candidates who hold the prestigious M. Phil
degree holders, while previously, Candidates who had an M. Phil degree were
allowed two advance increments in the past.
 For Those who have either of M.A / M.sc/ M.com degree: Candidates who
complete the master of arts ( M.A), Master of Science ( M.sc) or Master of commerce
(M.com) degree will be entitled to two advance increments per year.
 Associate Professor: The salary of an associate professor, who has just joined the
college or a university, will include two advance annual increments annually.
Teachers who are presently in service and have not yet completed their PhD degrees
will be provided with three advance increments annually, and when they attain their
PhD degree, they will be allowed two advance increments per year.
 People working with high merit were eligible for five advance increments per year
previously according to UGC guidelines, but now according to the UGC 7th pay
commission, they will be eligible for seven advance increments annually.
