About us
SERAM is a scientific-medical society assembling most

Publications
RADIOLOGÍA ESENCIAL
(second edition)
The second edition of the book,
Radiología Esencial, was published in
2018. The book’s editors and section
editors have developed a new index
with new sections and chapters to
present an updated work of interest
for all radiologists. This new edition
has more than 150 chapters divided
into 15 sections, in which more than
200 radiologists (diagnostic and inter-
ventional radiology) have participated
as authors.
VIRTUAL LIBRARY
The SERAM Virtual Library is one of
the services most valued by SERAM
members, and currently includes 22
international journals covering nume-
rous radiological subspecialties.
Around 47,000 articles are down-
loaded per year.
RADIOLOGÍA
Founded in 1912, Radiología is the
official journal of SERAM. Radiología is
published bimonthly (six issues per
year) in Spanish and English. Each arti-
cle undergoes a peer-review process.
Radiología focuses mainly on original
research, but also publishes reviews,
guidelines, short communications,
clinical images, clinical notes, and
book reviews. The journal is indexed in
the Emerging Sources Citation Index
(Thomson Reuters), Medline, and
EMBASE/Excerpta Médica.
SERAM DOCUMENTS
SERAM has published a number of
documents and position papers focus-
sing on COVID-19, quality, manage-
ment, and other issues of special inte-
rest to residents and radiologists,
which can be accessed through the
SERAM website.
These documents include “A Guide
with Imaging Indications in COVID-19
Infection”, “Radiology since COVID-19
pandemic’s appearance: analysis and
recommendations”, “Good Practice in
Teleradiology”, “Becoming a Radiolo-
