P1: Good day everyone! We are the group 1.

We will discuss about the pros and cons of using

contraceptive method and stopping early pregnancy.

P2: But what is Contraceptive method? Contraceptives are designed to prevent pregnancy in three basic
ways: they either block sperm, disable sperm before they reach the uterus, or suppress ovulation
through the use of various devices, sexual practices and drugs.

P3: Methods of contraception include condoms, Diaphragm, Pills, intra-uterine device (IUD), Morning
After Pills (M.A.P) and Implanted Contraceptive Devices (I.C.D).

P1: Here are some pros of using contraceptive methods:

P1: It reduce the need for abortion by preventing unwanted pregnancies, HIV/AIDS prevention through
the use of condoms, and protect against Osteoporosis, Iron deficiency anemia (which can result from
having heavy periods), Pelvic inflammatory disease (which, if left untreated, can cause infertility), and
Ovarian cysts.

P4: Contraception enables spacing between pregnancies, postponing pregnancies in young girls who are
at an elevated risk of health issues from early childbearing, and preventing pregnancies among older
women who also face increased risks.

P2: Contraception reduces the risk of developing certain reproductive cancers, and can be used to treat
many menstrual related symptoms and disorders. Contraception can be also used for family planning,
slows population growth, and reduces teenage pregnancies.

P3: While the cons of using a contraceptive methods are:

P3: It offers no protection against Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), may cause irregular periods or
spotting between periods, can be expensive, the long term use of oral contraceptives containing
estrogen induce an increase in blood pressure and sharply increase the risk of hypertension and it has
been linked to an increased risk of some serious health conditions, such as blood clots and breast cancer

P4: Contraceptives can also cause some side effect such as irregular bleeding, headache, breast
tenderness, change in appetite or weight gain, and changes in libido (sexual desire) as a result of using
contraceptive.

P1: Contraception is used by couples to prevent pregnancy, but because most teenagers are still
immature and don't receive adequate sex education, early pregnancies frequently occur.

P2: Sex education and awareness is an important factor to prevent early pregnancy and as well as
proper parental guidance. Pregnancy isn’t for everyone especially for those teenagers. Thank you!
