DISCUSSION

The group has conducted a study entitled “IMPACT OF TEXT COLOR ON

MEMORY” among BS Psychology Students in Notre Dame University. The researchers used

test questionnaires based on the subject’s matter which was utilized to measure the memory of

the respondents. The independent variable followed two types of Conditions: Condition A (Text

With Color) and Condition B (Text Without Color).

In relation to the result, there was no significant difference between the memory for with

color and without color on the respondents’ memory. Overall, the data from the study provided

an objective illustration that colored test can be easier to memorize as much as the non-colored

test. Research studies have typically focused on questions concerning the relative effectiveness

of memorizing text with color versus the text without color.

A comparison of memorized score between the text with color and text without color

presented that the subjects almost have the same memorized score after the conditions were

perused. The average scores from Text with color (M=8.5667) is almost the same compared to

the average score from text without color (M=8.4667). Substantively, however, the difference is

rather small.
Nevertheless, the average performance of all students demonstrated slightly the same of

text with color and text without color. The present study confirmed with this range of material

that text with color and text without color have the same effect on the respondent’s memory. As

most of the other investigations on the two mediums of memorizing, this study came to the

conclusion that both formats are equally effective.
