SECTION 3 GROUND INVESTIGATION

This Section covers investigation of the existing soil condition and any other sub-surface investigation works of
the Project. Unless indicated otherwise, applicable provisions of Section 3 and other relevant parts of latest
edition of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS), apply to this Section.

Soil Report and other sub-surface investigation data, where made available to the Contractor by the Engineer,
are to be used solely for reference and verification purpose. No guarantee is given regarding their correctness.
Any information made available to the Contractor, either in these documents or by any other source, will not
relieve the Contractor of his responsibility to decide for himself the nature and extent of the Works nor will it
guarantee that similar condition will apply on other parts of the Site. As such:

1. Contractor shall carry out his own ground and sub-surface condition investigation at Site as specified in Part
1, Section 3 of QCS; and shall be deemed to have fully satisfied himself to the correctness of the Soil
Investigation Report and all other ground and subsurface investigation data concerning the Project Site.

2. Contractor shall include in the Contract Price and Programme of Works all monetary and time considerations
for the complete and proper execution of the Works. No claim for additional payment or extension of time
shall be considered or admitted arising from the Contractor’s failure to do so.

3. Any discrepancies arising between data issued by the Engineer and the Contractor’s own investigation shall
be brought to the attention of the Engineer by the Contractor.
