 What were the 3 main points of the lecture?

This lecture has pointed 3 main points, first is identifying Hallway medicine and the
actions the government has taken to improve the healthcare system. Pointing out the 3
key findings of the premier’s council report on improving healthcare and ending hallway
medicine and outlined the next 4 steps to tackle this issue. Also, understanding Bill 74,
The People’s Health Care Act, 2019 that was introduced to the legislature. Which
suggested to create a “super agency” called Ontario’s Health that brings together many
of entities to one organization which include, Cancer Care Ontario, eHealth Ontario, and
many more. Lastly, stakeholder analysis that improves the understanding of bill 74.

 What point or example from the lecture would you like to see reviewed or clarified?

I would like to see the part of the Ontario Health teams more clarified. Because I feel I understand who
is Ontario’s health teams but Is not clear for me how they are chosen? Which criteria do the
government follow to choose these members?

 What were the 3 main points of the lecture?

The lecture helped to understand the integrated care, I identifying all angles of Health
Links like how it implied to the system, how is it helpful for the patient and what are the
pros of Health Links? Also, the difference between the Health Links and Ontario Health
teams.

Integrated care in a basic word is an approach that helps the patient healthcare
experience by organizing the care around the patient’s needs. Health Links is an
initiative that follows the same approach by providing multiple healthcare providers and
services in a geographical area to better organize and coordinate the patient’s
experience with the health system. The lecture helped to illustrate Health Links' goals
such as improve access to family care, and the value which adds to the patient’s
experience to the health system such as have an individualized, coordinated plan
followed by his physician. Lastly, the main couple of differences between Health Links
and Ontario Health Teams is that Health Links served to lower the number of
populations. OHT is funded by” Integrated Funding Envelope” which completely
different from how Health Links is funded.

 What point or example from the lecture would you like to see reviewed or clarified?

All aspects and points in this lecture were very clear and easy to follow. But I have a question, why many
teams are not approved yet by the ministry to join OHT? While this approach is made to help all aspects
of patient groups.
