Acknowledgement
For the internship that was done at Webpoint Solution, LLC, a post-internship report has been
generated. The internship was a part of the textbook Pre-Industrial Experience, which seeks to
combine the execution of competency in the broad knowledge of the study with the practical
understanding of the textbook study. Since we were already familiar with the theory from our
course work, the internship's major objective was to gain practical knowledge and real-world
experience. I was able to learn the information with success. The purpose of this report is to
provide a summary of the internship.
I was offered the fantastic chance to work as an intern at Webpoint Solution, LLC, where I took
full use of the possibilities that were presented to me. I was able to pick up a lot of new
information and abilities. I had a positive internship experience there since the entire staff was
really supportive.
I'd like to start by thanking the Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF) for organizing the
internship program and for introducing the businesses. I would also want to give a particular
thank you to our internship coordinator, Mr. Jasbir Singh Makkar, for his assistance with the
production of the pre- and post-internship reports at the beginning and the conclusion of the

1.5 The Environment

The business is situated in New Baneshwor, in the very center of Kathmandu. All work is
completed in the company's headquarters, where all team members and board members work
remotely and communicate with one another effectively and flexible via Google Meet calls. The
company's board of directors and employees are both devoted and dedicated, which leads to
greater outcomes. The culture of Webpoint is one of constant learning because, as they say, "We
don't just work; we learn too" (Communication + Teamwork = Better Outcome). As a result, to
keep the team current and to stay competitive in the market, Webpoint encourages team
members to continue their education. Webpoint has the best leader, who guides the team toward
the company's and their own personal improvement through sound decision-making. When it
comes to communication, Webpoint employs Slack. They may send a direct message to anybody
with a question or post a message to a group chat to alert the entire staff. The Webpoint Solution
has found Slack to be a fantastic communication tool. And in accordance with project
management, Webpoint divides the work among the team and manages the project using Jira.
For Webpoint Solution, Jira has been the most effective project management platform.

1.6 Nature of the competition within market

Since the company's founding, the Webpoint Solution has concentrated on giving its clients IT
services and helping them become digital with their businesses. The Company has established
defined objectives and a plan for achieving them. There are many rivals in the industry that offer
the same service as Webpoint because they are an IT firm that focuses mostly on developing
mobile and online apps. Because of the rise in IT businesses over the past several years, the
market for competitors has become even larger. Webpoint has been fighting with its rivals by
bringing in consistent clientele and building a strong relationship with them, as they are aware of
this. Additionally, they frequently wow the clients and secure the deal when presenting the
project proposal.

1.7 Effect of technology within the market

As in the present, technology is always evolving. Every year and every month, a new technology
is introduced, and those who work in the IT industry need to stay current on these developments
and anticipate whether or not they will be accepted. Everyone learns something new every day,
just like in Webpoint, where they do research and study freshly released technologies. Every
employee of the organization keeps themselves current in their respective disciplines.
Additionally, the corporation encourages its employees to pick up new technology and adapt to
them so they can compete in the market. The corporation also adopts new technology, informs its
employees of this, and supports their acquisition of new technologies.

1.8 Issues or constraints

Given that Webpoint Solution's primary area of expertise is technical advancement. I can identify
certain places that could use improvement for the benefit of the business. During the course of
my tenure at Webpoint, I saw that there was less drive in the workplace and that many team
members were weary. This was because, in today's workplaces that provide several
entertainment options, employees may become worn out and need a little break. Therefore, there
is a lack of renewal in the organization, which will also result in poor performance.

1.9 The Functions

1.9.1 Finance Department
The finance department is regarded as the most crucial but significant department in the
corporate organization since it handles all financial tasks. The company's finance department is
in charge of handling all of its financial-related tasks. The business effectively runs its finance
division. The company's expenses and income are primarily regulated by this department. This
agency has been given free rein to function since it is unable to make decisions on its own
without disastrous consequences thanks to the exact rules and regulations that have been
distributed.

7

1.9.2 Operational Department

The department is in charge of managing the company's business activities. This branch aims to
deliver outcomes that need significant time and resources. The company's top-level operational
department is the finest. The company's whole work is managed by this section. Working with
clients and interacting with workers are tasks carried out by this department. The operational
department, which oversees all of the company's projects, also handles the management portion
of the business.

1.9.3 Mobile Development Department

This division of the business is part of the operating division. The developer creates the greatest
possible mobile app in this sector. There are just 2 people working here: a coder and a mobile UI
& UX designer. For its customers, the company creates an iOS application. The department
develops the app and provides the capabilities specified in the customer requests using the most
recent technology. To ensure that you are always ready for work or pleasure, the company links
the web to your Apple device. The business develops small, specialized applications for cutting-
edge touchscreen gadgets running the most popular smartphone operating system in the world.

1.9.4 Web Development Department

This division is a part of the business' operational division. This department has a total of four
employees, two of them are front-end developers and the other two are back-end developers.
They create the web app for their clients using the most recent and cutting-edge technology.
Following completion, the web app's features are tested to ensure that the system is functioning
properly and satisfying its customers. Additionally, they make the web app responsive so that it
can be used by people with screens of any size. They employ NodeJS and Express for the
backend and ReactJS for front-end web development.

1.9.5 Design Department

The design department is where all of the product design work is done. UX lead, UX designers,
design director, and head of design are all members of the department. They employ the double-

8

diamond method for doing UX research and design thinking for producing beautiful and useful
designs. This department uses the latest technologies to create different kind of graphics,
different digital activities and so son. In this department, the advertisement campaign, social
media influencer and other activities is conducted which help company to grow well. It also
deals with the social media leads which comes while running ads in Instagram, Facebook, and
other social media.

1.10 Communications/Information Technology

As is well known, effective teamwork depends on effective communication. As can be seen from
the Webpoint, the organization has excellent internal communication. They hold meetings where
they discuss the projects they are working on as well as the challenges they are seeing as they
create the system, and then they work together to try to find a solution. Slack is another platform
they utilize for internal communication. It is a must for everyone in the organization to enable
Slack notifications so that they are alerted when a message is delivered to the team members.
Everyone in the firm acts in a cordial manner and offers assistance when necessary. The CTO
conducts the company meeting in the conference room, where all of the work from the previous
week is discussed in-person and any suggestions are welcomed.

1.11 Details of work

The business comprises several departments for the many kinds of work, including product
design, web development, and mobile development. They collaborate to create the system, and
all three departments work together to publish it online. During my time as an intern at the firm, I
completed some of the projects they gave me, which helped me hone my various product design
abilities that would be useful in my future profession. My boss helped me with the tasks and the
internship. He was a huge help to me in understanding a lot of things about UX design.

I worked on design projects for the firm while also developing my case study and portfolio so
that the user could offer whatever input they want. I conducted research, conducted surveys,

9
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

created wireframes and prototypes, and tested the product's usability in order to develop it. The
supervisor also gives me some pointers on how the design process operates.

2 Chapter 2: Technical Report

2.1 Introduction
Three months of the internship were spent working as a UX designer at Webpoint Solution. The
internship began on May 30, 2022, and ended on August 25, 2022. First of all, I was an intern
when I started working for the firm, so I had no idea how real-world projects would operate. I
was fresh to the idea of UX design and yet lacked the necessary abilities. The team and the
organization provided assistance in learning the necessary skills for learning UX design and idea.
The business supported the growth of my career.

The organization features separate departments for the many sorts of work, including UX design,
mobile development, and online development. They collaborate to create the system, and all
three departments work together to launch it on various platforms. As a corporate intern, I
completed some of the projects that were given to me during that time, which allowed me build a
wide range of UX and UI design abilities that would be useful to me in my future work as a UX
designer. My boss helped me with the tasks and the internship. He really assisted me in
understanding a lot of UX design concepts, and he also showed me how to collaborate with
various developers and interact with clients. I have no experience with the technologies or actual
projects in UX design. My employer gives me a real-world project. Throughout the learning
process, my supervisor acted as a mentor, giving me the tools, I needed to master the skill and
assisting me with any unfamiliar concepts. He also gave me a few challenging chores so I could
gauge my abilities.

I designed a website and an app for the business, which will now go through the development
phase. I've learnt a lot of ideas for designing this, like stakeholder meetings, user interviews,
following the design process, designing the user interface, doing some prototyping, and many
other things.

11
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

I gained knowledge of many UX and UI principles, user interviews, solution mapping,

information architecture development, and other things because I was new to the design field. I
was given the task of creating a case study on a real-world project, such as how to make the
ATM transaction simpler for the user, after being able to comprehend all the fundamental and
intermediate design concepts and principles of the UX design. I created the UI for the ATM. The
following list includes the tools and technologies I utilized throughout my three-month
internship: -

Tools used in Project

Figma

The first tool and designer must use tool is figma which is free and can be used for many
reasons. In terms of functionality and features, Figma is a cloud-based design application
comparable to Sketch, but with significant variations that make Figma superior for team
collaboration. We'll demonstrate how Figma streamlines the design process and is more efficient
than other tools at facilitating productive teamwork for people who are dubious about such
assertions. (Kopf, 2022)

12
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

Additionally, it functions on all platforms, including Macs, Windows PCs, Linux computers,
iPads, mobile devices, and even Chromebooks. Figma may also be used for real-time
collaboration, which means it can assist with projects in the real world or be used to aid others
with idea generation.

Notion

For teams, Notion is an all-in-one workplace. It is one of the top tools used for a variety of tasks,
including project management, business automation, and school-related assignments. Notion is a
potent tool for team collaboration, project management, task management, customer service,
Notes, process organization, information sharing, etc. Moreover, I use for documenting the
project overview, making portfolio and for the project management or taking notes for the
learning new things. (orli, 2022)

13
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

Miro

You can easily and successfully facilitate and run workshops with Miro's tools, features, and
atmosphere. I offered an experience that was comparable to leading actual workshops since
sticky notes can be viewed, updated, and shared by all users in real time. (Nalbandian, 2021)

2.2 Outline
This report, which was written, provides a summary of my internship experience and its results.
This report describes my direct involvement with the preferred subject and the suggested rules
from the business. This report provides an overview of the direction I went in throughout the
internship phase. Additionally, it provides information on the system I created for the business
during my internship as well as the achievement of the project I created. There are several
sections in the report, such as an introduction, a technical section, a learning outcome, etc. The

14
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

designer must be familiar with design principles, be an expert in them, and possess designing
abilities.

2.3 Brief (Overview of technical report)

As I already mentioned, I started working as an intern at "Webpoint Solution, LLC," an
innovative IT service provider that offers its clients expert IT services. They digitalize their
business and raise customer happiness. The company adopts the new technology and uses it as
the foundation of its system. They have all they need to succeed since they have a
knowledgeable crew of IT specialists who help to build the system more effectively and
efficiently for their clients. They consistently arrive on time and provide the highest caliber of
services to their customers. Throughout my three-month internship, I ran across a number of
problems where I became stopped at some time. My supervisor was able to assist me in resolving
these problems and making them simpler for me to understand. I gained a lot of information
from the team members in a variety of other areas as well. They were truly friendly, and they had
an impact on my decision to pursue a career in UX design.

I was not given any assignments when I initially started at the organization, so they
recommended me to evaluate my knowledge on my own and decide what abilities I needed to
acquire before starting to improve. By doing this, I was able to handle the issue that called for me
to develop the necessary abilities for the UX design. I began obtaining new information and
abilities, which brought me to where I am now—knowing about UX design. My mentor first
gave me some simple chores to complete while I was studying, and as I practiced them, I learned
a lot. After that, I was given the second-largest duty, which required me to create a portfolio. I
was eventually able to finish the website after spending a lot of time building the portfolio. After
the project was finished, they also showed me how to pass the design along to the developer,
which will help me interact with developers in the working world.
Working Areas: Product Development

UX Design

15
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

The whole UX design is complete umbrella where it contains User research and UI design. So, in
order to achieve or develop product, we must first study user behavior and motivation in order to
improve the digital experience. Furthermore, focusing more on the user side is not always the
case we have to see the business side also. To complete the project, we have to focus on different
design process such as empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test the project. The UX design
process is iterative process and we have to go back and forth to collect data from user or
stakeholder and do the design task. We have to follow different design system which makes our
design more effective and help us all the times.

The work that I completed during my internship is seen in the photographs below. During my
internship, I acquired new design skills and completed a variety of design projects. a few are
listed below:

16
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

2.4 Solutions
During the design and learning time I did faced a lot of problems where team members and
supervisor helped me a lot to understand the problem and helped me to solve the problem.
Empathizing with users, comprehending business requirements, and creating without context
were the main issues where I ran into trouble. Additionally, working with the developer was a
wild journey that helped me appreciate the value of teamwork and communication. The team
members in the company gave me advice on which design process to use, provided me with
some articles, and helped me out a lot. The supervisor assisted me in starting at the beginning
and provided the tools I needed to learn the new system after I had to master the design system,
which was completely foreign to me. They assisted me in developing new problem-solving
abilities. After understanding everything, I was able to apply it to my design work, which makes
the process quicker and more efficient. Essentially, a design system is a catalog of the parts and
aesthetics that go into a product, together with information on how and why each should be

17
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

employed. A design system is more strategic and comprehensive than style guides and pattern
libraries, despite the fact that they are sometimes mistaken with them.

I became aware of all of these things before beginning the endeavor. For the assignment, I
worked on case studies for an iOS financial software that assists users with money management
and encourages saving for the future. While working on the project, I ran into issues including
how difficult it was to do surveys and collect data, how difficult it was to interview users who
were having issues, and how difficult it was to come up with design solutions. I was able to solve
the problem thanks to the information I acquired as an intern and the mentor's assistance.

2.5 Project results

After completing the project, I was able to have a full knowledge on UX design and was able to
understand how the company did work. After Completing the project that was assigned to me by
the Webpoint Solution I am confident to say that now I will be able to work on the field of UX
design and do some project in the real world.

3 Chapter 3: Conclusions & Recommendations

In a word, I want to say that the three months I spent working as an intern at Webpoint Solution
were really beneficial to my professional development. Throughout the three months, the firm
gave me a lot of assistance and really aided my development by introducing me to experts from
the actual world and teaching me how their jobs are done. My ability to design was enhanced
through the internship program. My professional career was greatly shaped by the company.
Both the company's profile and my own experiences working as an intern at the linked
organization are covered in the report I wrote for the internship.
